Breakthrough

I watched Nosferatu (2024) in Feb and immediately knew I'd have to recreate this scene with Will and Vecna at some point. 🧛

(The final panel is super rushed and I'm not happy with how it turned out, but overall I'm pleased I got this done in time for Halloween for once!)

I think Vecna sees Will as a precious object to him. It's like Gollum cradling the Ring in his hands. That would be the in-universe explanation anyways.

The more meta/thematic explanation is that Vecna is meant to be seen as predatory towards Will. If we are following along with stories like Dracula/Nosferatu/Phantom, then Vecna is meant to fill the role of the evil and toxic supernatural boyfriend.

I’m not articulate enough to put into words how important Rick is to me and that’s why this blog is mostly a mixture of silent reblogs and superficial praise, but I thought that on his birthday I should make a little effort.

Recognition eluded him most of his life and he only really got it in his later years and, sadly, after his death, which is something that I could never understand — the Floyd would have never been what they are if it weren’t for Rick’s magical touch and I don’t get why someone so integral to the band was so blatantly ignored for many years (his return wasn’t easy either, but that’s another story). On a more personal level, I have always found Rick rather relatable because I see a lot of myself in him and I can get an idea of how isolated he felt due to his shy and reserved personality.

I’ll stop now because I don’t know what else to say except that he’s very dear to me, always has been and always will be, and I really cherish the music he has left us as his immortal legacy.
