Warmth and light

The sun is up and illuminating the room, but Rick is sound asleep and Syd chooses not to wake him up. Instead, he looks at the way sunlight touches Rick’s skin, delicately, making him glow and highlighting every line of his body.

Even the sun loves him.

Syd reaches his hand and brushes Rick’s cheek, careful not to awaken him. He’s been thinking that there’s something missing in Rick’s portrait and now he finally knows what it is.

Warmth, light.

Everything is more luminous when Rick is around.

He kisses Rick’s forehead and then gets up to finish the portrait.
