Later, Gilley made it clear it was up to Laurie if he wanted to meet his family or not. Laurie chose not. He had zero interest in getting to know the other side of his family when he was a kid, and Fetch was the only one who tried, their shared dad never did, and never would. Fetch tried after Laurie's existence came up in conversation and his mom shook her head and made a comment about how sad it was to grow up without your pack.

Fetch was mid twenties at the time, and died a handful of years later. That fact isn't something Laurie knows.
