Ah, but that is all in the past, surely? After all, you have grown up, as children must do. Time passed, as it always does, and the fairy tales you so cherished were left behind in the back of your mind to gather dust.
At eighteen, a summer away from leaving for college, you begin working on Darling's Library, the family's small business, where you reignite your love for those past stories.
On a whim, however, your life changes abruptly, for Peter Pan himself, now the same age as you, seeks your help in a quest that will change the course of your destiny forever.
Something is amiss in Neverland, and foes and friends, both new and old, must band together in order to save the one place anyone can call home.

Captain James/Jeanne Hook (m/f): Captain of the Jolly Roger, Hook is a deeply intelligent individual and a natural leader through and through. Fierce, quite crass, and sometimes unsympathetic to another's plight, Hook is disillusioned and oftentimes hides their own discontentment with life behind a facade of detachment, coldness, and snark.
In a duel of hearts, would you abandon everything for the prize of the Captain's affection?
Tiger Lily (f): Daughter of the chieftain, Tiger Lily has grown up with the certainty that she is destined for great things. Too bad she has to placate her tribe's expectations, in a land where she feels that rarely anything happens. Bored out of her mind, she welcomes the mystery of Neverland's sickness with open arms, remembering the fondness she harbors for the island and its inhabitants.
This princess's attention is on you. Do you have what it takes to hold it forever?
Micah "Tootles" (m/f): Despite the misfortunes that have befallen this member of the Lost Boys, they persevere in their optimism and sunny attitude towards life. Sweet, gullible, and sensible beyond measure, Tootles is the friend you can count on.
When they fall, as they always do, will your heart hold them close by?
Billie "Nibs" (m/f): Bravest amidst the Lost Boys, Billie is overeager and often reckless, throwing themself head first into all sorts of trouble, no matter the consequences, and sometimes, no matter whether friend or foe gets hurts in the process. This devil-may-care attitude, however, hides a difficult past.
Will you be the one to discover all their secrets, allowing them to fully bloom?
Frankie "Slightly" (m/f): Intelligent but extremely conceited, the adjective "humble" is not one used to describe this member of the Lost Boys. Frankie loves to learn and read, and usually takes the lead when it comes to planning the next trap Captain Hook will fall in. However, their cocky, arrogant attitude is starting to cause a rift between them and their friends.
Will you be the one to show Frankie that bonds need empathy to grow?
Peter Pan (m): The self-proclaimed King of Neverland, Peter is playful and exuberant, but sometimes imprudent, mean, and resentful, he takes his jokes way too far. A paradox, in a moment this boy is as sweet as pie, and the next as cold as an igloo.
Can you unlock the enigma that is his heart?
OTHER CHARACTERS
Tinker Bell (f): A mischievous, creative, and hard-working faerie, Tinker Bell has since outgrown the abrasive personality she had in the past. Now, she is kind and playful, overflowing with love for her friends.
Valentine Winters (m): Captain Hook's close friend and a musician in the Jolly Roger, Valentine is charming, if a little reserved, with a laid-back attitude that always puts you at ease.
Jubilee (nb): A faerie under Tinker Bell's tutelage that is assigned as your personal tour guide on Neverland, showing you the ropes. They are sweet, if a little ditzy and distracted.

This is a retelling of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, and as such, I took creative liberties with it to fit the narrative I wanted to tell and read about.
