Until we get the official backstory, this is what I’ll be using for this blog.

Lucian was Mollymauk, before the ritual that gave him his Blood Hunter abilities. His accent can be heard whenever Mollymauk uses his Devil’s Tongue ability. He was a rogue, skilled with wielding dual blades, and had ambitions to have his group surpass the original without bowing to the rich families. They were tasked with retrieving a book for a spellcaster from Rexxentrum, and when it was delivered she offered power as well as a way to infiltrate a city where powerful relics resided. Lucian took the deal, and the rest is recent history. Whatever the ritual was intended for, it ended up killing Lucian and attaching him with a power beyond the grave.

The only difference between Lucian and Mollymauk is a clean slate – one that is slowly filling in after his second death. He remembers seeing the Raven Queen before, and can remember the spellcaster’s face as it appears in his dreams. Other things from his past are beginning to come to the forefront of his mind, and he hates it. He wants Lucian gone, but it can’t happen.

     With the others now focused on those coming for TravelerCon, Mollymauk found himself withdrawing. He found himself alone with his thoughts and his thoughts dwelling on what they had found below the island. Vokodo had been a strange entity, but stranger still was the implications of the memories gleaned from it. A city in the astral sea. A city hunting, searching, hungry. Eyes of Nine. Nonagon. Was it somehow connected?

     He had thought he had been stealthy enough, but Caleb had caught him making his way out of the village. Mollymauk felt guilty for being spotted, but guiltier still now that he knew he would be dragging others into it.

And yet he hadn’t mentioned to the others that he was coming to trail after Molly. Then again he hadn’t expected Molly to be attempting to go back to the cavern, not when things were finally settling down and TravelerCon was just days away now. 

Caleb had noticed Mollymauk seemed rather off ever since they had defeated Vokodo. Less chatty, far less excited for Jester’s event than he seemed to be when coming to the island. More prone to looks of worry and thoughtfulness. Caleb noticed more often than not.

    But he couldn’t shake the thought of it all.
