Any Other Vlog is an incredibly modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet from the perspective of Benvolio. With a largely female and LGBT cast, this reinterpretation sets itself apart from others of its kind. Created by Meg Greene and starring Hannah Sikkink, it is cheeky, adorable, and pretty dang rad.

The Jar Series or Just a Reminder is a comedic web series about a group of teenagers starring Kelly Carrell, Sarah Dunn, Zach Hunter, and Hannah Sikkink, created by Meg Greene.

The Roedell Project is a web series about friendship, college, and an LGBTQIAP+ frat. With new episodes every Tuesday and Thursday and riveting transmedia, it’s easy to stay up to date on the hijinks of Ava (Allie Merrell) and Dylan (Meg Greene).

super attractive cast that is also super approachable and nice (they’re all just nerds like us)

super creative, thoughtful and funny creators that are just as approachable (gosh you’re all so talented!!)

like, you can have a budget of millions of dollars and still produce utter crap like “sexist white guy hero saves the world”. but wow, these webseries folks prove that even with no money, no big names, and a halfway decent camera, you can tell stories that matter.

small fandom, but one of the nicest ones you’ll ever find.

when showrunners fuck up in any way (which they’re allowed to do, they’re only human, mistakes are okay), they will actually listen when someone points it out, and they will work hard to do better next time.

okay but can we get back to diversity quickly? so yeah, most webseries used to be awfully white in the beginning, but this is getting so much better. and we have all the queer characters: beautiful bisexuals who are allowed to say the word. Actual aces who use the word asexuality. Biromantic aces. Aromantic aces. Pansexual characters. Trans girls who kick ass. Trans boys who take action. Nonbinary folks of all kinds. Characters who are out and proud. Characters who come out on camera. Characters who are still questioning and working hard to figure themselves out. You’ve got characters that address the discriminations they face, but you’ve also got complete worlds without queerphobia, where everyone is just the way they are and no one ever gives them shit for it. And let’s not stop at sexuality, because we’ve got autistic characters, we’ve got characters with PTSD, with anxiety, with agoraphobia, depressed characters, etc. etc.

tl;dr: webseries are amazing and everyone should watch them.

In honor of the fantastic LGBTQ+ webseries fans and creators out there, I’ve compiled a list of some of the many fantastic LGBTQ+ webseries that are out there. I’ve seen almost all of these, and all of them are created by fantastic people and have great representation, though the degree to which they manage that definitely varies. I’ve grouped the shows by type of representation, though a couple got shuffled around so that I’d have enough in certain categories. Shows under the cut. Happy viewing!

A gifset of Dylan and Ava being adorable. Actually, there were probably several before I finally managed to start watching.
