A premier small public research university nationally acclaimed for excellence in liberal education, medicine, biological and health sciences, and environmental leadership.
I think this is a good responsive website to reference for redesigning The New York Times website (Books section). There is a lot of content in the New York Times webpage, and a good way to make it easier to view all the content while keeping everything minimal would be to do a layout that the content sections, menu bars and columns shift over each other and become less visible or take up less room by reducing a word to a icon symbol.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
Brushing my teeth with a big toothbrush that jingled music when you shook it. I loved that toothbrush. I may have been 2 years old at the time.
"Users don't like pushing buttons all the time" "Simplicity takes a lot of time" "It's all designed to be the experience the user expects"
Quotes from the video "Design Process at Path" I liked. I think Path is a very easy to use mobile App! Interesting design process behind Path!
"See with the eye, feel with the other." Paul Klee
Wow! What can I say, you have to have a good eye to create something beautiful or wonderful, but to create something with purpose, takes thinking of how another would feel and imagining you were that person. How would your creation achieve functionality? You have to be able to see how others would see.

Good design is as little design as possible-less, but better-because "it concentrates on the essential aspects, and the products are not burdened with non-essentials back. Back to purity, back to simplicity." ibid
Reading this quote from "Learning to See" meant something very important; that less is sometimes more. It gives the viewer more to think about, and to appreciate and take in the simplicity. That makes the product so much more meaningful and more beautiful.
"My approach to the artistic process is to trust my eyes, not my mind" Ken Backhaus
I found this quote from "Learning to See" interesting, since an artist must have a good eye to be able to create what they see, rather than depend on anything else.
