"Evie... don't shut me out. Let me help you... please." -lordxstarrick

“I’m not shutting you out” Evie responded with a sigh and a shake of her head, rubbing her arm with her hand “I’ve just been…busy”
Crawford went to her, placing one hand on her shoulder and the other gently cupping her face.
“Busy doesn’t begin to define it,” he murmured quietly. “I’m worried about you. You need a break, Evie. You’re going to run yourself ragged.”
“Crawford I’m fine” she assured him again with a soft smile, leaning into his hand and then turning her head to kiss the palm of it. “This is an important job, love”
Crawford looked down at her, his eyes full of concern. "You're exhausted, and it's well past reasonable business hours. When was the last time you had a decent meal, Evie?"
The words were spoken softly, to take any potential sting from them. He wasn't trying to criticize her, but he was worried that she had gotten so wrapped up in her work that she'd neglected to take care of herself.
"You've also missed several calls from your brother. He even called me to make sure you're alright." Crawford kissed her forehead gently. "Maybe it's time to be done for the evening."
