Annaya’s tongue darted out to wet her suddenly dry lips before she spoke. “And us?" Rommath's eyes snapped back to her. He frowned as he tilted his head to the side slightly. "What about us?" Annaya’s eyes fell to the floor for a moment as she fought with herself. The thought was unfounded and completely ridiculous. She had no reason to think otherwise and yet… "What are we?" She forced out in a whisper. A small part of Annaya thought he would be angry or offended at the question but instead Rommath's face shifted as his brows lifted and the corner of his lip quirked up. "What are we?" He echoed softly. Annaya nodded quickly, suddenly afraid of her own voice. Rommath's hand shifted so that he could cup her cheek, his fingers drifting back to card into her hair. “Would you like me to show you what we are?" He murmured as he slowly leaned toward her. She looked up at him through the curtain of her lashes as her heart fluttered. “Yes, Surfal."
