I don’t let my students use the world “ugly” unless it’s in the context of someone’s actions and behaviors. We have to start teaching kids that being ugly has nothing to do with your looks, it’s about who you are as a person and how you treat others. I will often say, “that behavior was ugly” or “that decision you chose to make was ugly”

I’ve always loved the idea of not being what people expect me to be.
