Very interesting read!

The Nazis adopted the term “Entartete Kunst” or “Degenerate Art”, from the author Max Nordau book “Entartung” (Degeneration), published in 1892. Nordau theorized that modern and avant-garde art must be derived from sick and deranged minds that had the potential to corrupt the view of an entire generation. Paul Schultze-Naumburg, a Nazi party member, later built upon a more sinister hypothesis of Nordau’s theory in his book Art and Race. Read more about it here.

Robert Bereny. Sleeping Lady with Black Vase, c. 1927-1928. Gergely Barki, 43, a researcher at Hungary's National Gallery, noticed Sleeping Lady with Black Vase by 20th Century painter Robert Bereny while watching TV with his daughter Lola in 2009. Barki recognised it immediately from a faded black-and-white photo dating from a 1928 exhibition archived in the National Gallery.

Education for Death is a U.S. Government contacted animated propaganda film produced by Walt Disney and directed by Clyde Geronimi. The short is loosely based on Gregor Ziemer's non-fiction book of the same title.

Monet's Landscape at the evening, has been reported found on the Lost Art Internet Database under the category: "Koffer fund" ("Suitcase works"). The landscape was found September 5, 2014 in Cornelius Gurlitt's suitcase of in the hospital where he died May.

"These albums, created by the staff of a special task force, the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg, or ERR, document the unprecedented and systematic looting of Europe by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. The ERR was the main Nazi agency engaged in the theft of cultural treasures in Nazi-occupied countries." The album documents the seizure of 21,903 artworks.
