I can get ANYTHING done while listening to the James Bond theme.
Brandy Agerbeck is a pro a capturing ideas and conversations in a visual form. She also wrote a book about it for others who want to do the same. Well worth the read!

Here's some jaunty music I compiled to play before my keynote at the International Forum of Visual Practitioners Conference in NYC next week. It is full of swank + wiggle.
Come see Manual Coffeemaker Nº1 make its Chicago debut at the Guerrilla Truck Show, Tuesday June 11th 5:30-9:30 in the Fulton Market District. I’ll be running a pop-up coffee bar out of a box truck all evening—stop by and let me pour you a cup.
Fantastic.
Hi Brandy, I'm new to GR and just getting started. I love the bright colors in your work and wondered what tools you use, re. markers. Thanks! Maya
Hello, Maya, welcome to this work! I hope you enjoy it half as much as I do, because that's still a LOT. :^) For the first 10 years, I used Mr. Sketch. For the last 5+ years, I have been devoted to Neuland markers from Germany. They are waterbased, are safe to our health, don't bleed through paper, come in 25 colors AND are refillable. Yes, they are a larger investment initially than disposable markers, but they are so worth it in the long run. And they have a great, big chisel tip marker that is FANTASTIC for working big.
Choice of tools are personal, but that's my personal choice. In The Graphic Facilitator's Guide, I talk about deciding on markers for what they can do *to* you and *for* you. I highly recommend picking waterbased markers to preserve your health. And then picking the kind of nibs and colors that suit your style and feel right to you.
Hope that helps! :^) You can find Neuland at Neuland.com. Look for the refillable markers. My main ones are the BigOnes and the NoOnes (both chisel tips). They also have bullet and brush tips in sizes both for flipcharts and sketchbooks.

Take a tour of the amazing Catalyst Ranch!
We are so lucky to have Catalyst Ranch as a Big Draw Chicago sponsor as well as two (count em’ TWO) brilliant and creative ladies from the Ranch serving on our Advisory Board.Â
Catalyst Ranch is also the venue for our very first Big Draw Chicago program, “Discover Drawing” with Brandy Agerbeck on October 1, 6:00-8:00pm. Brandy will be sharing the Draw Quad, a model to broaden your definition of drawing, through a series of accessible drawing exercises. The unexpected, inspiring environment of Catalyst Ranch will break down barriers and provide creative sparks to ignite (or re-ignite) your love of drawing and to reclaim drawing as a tool for thinking, communication, and problem-solving. Space is limited, so make sure you register ahead of time.Â
If you feel as inspired as I do by the video, just think of how creative you’ll be when you’re actually there!Â
Very happy to be kicking off The Big Draw Chicago at Catalyst Ranch 10/1. Register + join us!
The GFG is now Kindle-fied! You can read The Graphic Facilitator's Guide now. And on any of these devices.
