I've been putting off reading "if only" because I didn't think I'd want to read a story about kanthony being so separated and in different relationships, but I love your work so I read it anyway. It was beautiful. I especially liked that there were no villains and that's just how life goes sometimes which makes it more tragic. Maybe it didn't go to plan but the journey can still be wonderful. Thanks for that.

Aw, thank you! Yeah, I thought a lot about that one after I wrote it. Anthony taking Kate home and just caring for her because she's still a little dazed and overwhelmed. Staying in her flat the whole weekend, talking about why he did what he did and what happens next, showing her that he can be reliable, he can be there for her. And Kate doesn't really know what to do about anything but she knows she doesn't want Anthony to leave. So they start there.
"as long as she goes home with me" makes me think of a scenario in which Tom misreads the boundaries of their group playdates and broaches dating Kate or sleeping with her one on one and gets a thorough refresher on the rules of the game
Lmaooo like...Tom tied to a chair and unable to move while the rest of them play with Kate. Or even just watching Kate and Anthony together while he can't join in or even take care of himself. That would be fun honestly.
I think I have a new LFTS head canon in which When The Party's Over Kate and Anthony are the start of Our Wild Love Raging Kate and Anthony. Anthony has passive thoughts about Kate walking through the party in a lacey robe to get to the bedroom, who might have seen her, whose eyes may have lingered, etc. But then he's turned on by the idea of people seeing Kate like that and know she's his. And it develops from there.
You might be right! I was thinking about how it would work, like Kate would probably show up in a dress or something and then go to a bathroom to change, but everyone knows why she's there and why they have to get out lol. But of course I love an Anthony who's like, look at my hot wife. Look at this woman. She can have anything she wants, as long as she goes home with me.

Oh, thank you so much. This version of them definitely has a place in my heart. Over time I just became very attached to them and now that they've gotten their HEA I just feel very soft about it.
I shed a tear at that last chapter - both for how beautiful of an ending it was but also cos it ended and I wasn’t ready to see them go. That last time jump was incredible though…the happiness they have with one another gave me goosebumps. Also thank you for the mood boards they were inspiring and thank you ever so much for sharing yet another great Kanthony story. Every version you share is a gift.
Thank you. It's never easy to let them go! I don't do time-jump epilogues for all my fics, but for some reason I really wanted to do it for this one. I just wanted to see Anthony with his kids, him and Kate still partners, older and wiser and a little tired but happy and at peace.
One of my favorite parts of writing Wanderers was making moodboards for each chapter, so here they all are together...(Gabon, the Maldives and Brunei were my favorites).

Just rereading Wanderers (it’s become my Kanthony comfort fic) & this paragraph in chapter 3 stood out
“I'm so tired of this. I'm so tired of him flirting with me and screwing other people, I'm so tired of everything I feel being unrequited, I'm so tired of being in love with this absolute arsehole.”
Did they ever discuss this in depth? I’m sure Anthony felt like shit with the knowledge now of how Kate felt and Kate must’ve also felt terrible at not realising it was NOT unrequited. It’s so fascinating when people live in their own heads and create these narratives that are far from the truth….. thank you
Oh thank you! I love being able to write someone's comfort fic. Yes, I think there are a lot of deeper conversations they have in their relationship. Especially after they argue in Brunei, they're both more willing to talk about things that are awkward or difficult without worrying that the other person is going to walk out. I think Anthony definitely carries the guilt of making Kate feel jealous and unwanted, and Kate also had her share of unintentionally saying and doing things that made Anthony think she would never want him. They both try to make up for that by being verbally and physically affectionate with each other and making their feelings super clear.
I think we've all had times when we were convinced we knew how someone felt and we didn't at all. Our instinct for self-preservation and to maintain the status quo can make us convince ourselves of things that aren't true. (But I did make Kanthony kiss a chapter before I had originally planned because I think readers were losing their minds at the miscommunication lmao.)
Me again I’m on chapter 5 and this is what stood out to me:
"You're so incredible, Kate," he murmurs against my hair. "The most incredible person I've ever met. When you find the right person, everything will click, everything will make sense, and they will be so grateful every day that they found you."
In hindsight and now they’re together they probably see everything they did and said prior to them coming together as either amusing or also just cringe knowing what they know now lol
Bahaha right. Kate's all like "he says these amazing romantic things to me and he doesn't even realize it." Like girl, he realized it. I like to think they tease each other about it a lot. Anthony's like "hey remember when I told you that you were beautiful eight hundred times and you thought I was just being nice?"
