i think all the women through out history who were financially pushed into marriage and motherhood because they had no other options is sad and tragic too but socially something we will never be able to reckon with because we can’t come to terms with the fact some women don’t want to be mothers
we really are so condtioned to believe, deep down, all women want to be mothers (even if now we’re okay with women having careers too) like i really just think we should all question how news cycles about birth decline are aimed at us, when realistically there’s several reasons for it and one is absolutely women more and more are in positions where they don’t have be wives and mothers for economic reasons and you know what? that’s a good thing!

i think it’s a good idea to make a separate individual post that isn’t a bunch of paragraphs but yeah basically my situation is: ive lived under a slumlord for years, he filed to evict me and my disabled mom who I take care of after we tested for mold and every room tested positive, he was convinced by legal aid to drop the eviction and give us until the end of the month to leave and we both have apartments in different cities lined up but not nearly enough money to cover the costs of moving including: rent and down payments, rental trucks and gas. (Also just other costs of living at the same time). 💔 My Mother’s Life Depends on Your Kindness
My mother is in Gaza, where every day is a struggle to survive. Some time ago, she was injured when shrapnel from nearby shelling struck her back. She tried to endure the pain for as long as she could, but now her condition has become critical.
She has now been admitted to the hospital, and her condition is very serious. She is suffering from unbearable back pain, extreme exhaustion, and every passing day brings more suffering. Watching my mother fight through this pain while I can do so little is heartbreaking.
The doctors told us that she urgently needs emergency back surgery. They warned us that the operation must be performed within the next 6 days to prevent her condition from deteriorating further.
The cost of this life-saving surgery is $1,000.
Thanks to the incredible kindness of compassionate people, we have raised $292 so far ($188 from our previous appeal and $104 from our latest one). We are deeply grateful for every donation.
However, we still need $708 to give my mother the surgery that could save her from worsening pain and complications.
I am begging you from the bottom of my heart: please don’t scroll past my mother’s suffering. Time is running out, and every hour matters.
