Hi!

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us. Come to think of it, maybe you’ve never heard from us.

But we have some news that might interest you.

Many of you have asked if we’ll ever tour again, especially since we weren’t able to perform after the releases of Don’t Shy Away and How Will I Live Without A Body?

The answer has always been the same: we really want to. But touring has become so expensive these days that we haven’t figured out how to afford it.

So we decided to take a risk: we've joined forces with our sister band Shearwater, since we share some members, and asked our UK/EU agents to book a three-week co-headlining tour in November—the When Can I See You? tour.

There are now 18 shows on the books—the first for us since 2018.

Here are the dates for the shows announced so far:

We’re hoping to add a couple more UK shows after London, too—and we love the thought of finally playing together again.

There’s only one fly in the ointment: Even though our agent did a great job, the tour still won’t make enough to cover our costs—so we’ve reluctantly decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign with Shearwater to help make up the difference. We’ll send details about that soon.

Please know that we’d much rather just announce a tour and see you there (!). But this is the only way we can think of to make this work. And we really want to see you.

How Will I Live Without a Body?, our third LP, comes out today, at last, via our friends at @subpop.

The video for “Affinity,” the final pre-release track from How Will I Live WIthout a Body?, is out today. It was directed by Allison Beondé (who also made the video for “Relay Runner”). See if you can spot EC’s stealth appearance!

“Pink Sky,” a dubby, mischievous little song from our upcoming album, would like to meet you. It has a lovely new video, animated and directed by Sabrina Nichols from a series of watercolors by EC.

It's been a long wait, but our new full-length album, How Will I Live Without A Body?, finally has a release date: it comes out on June 28th.

Today: two more videos (and songs) from our new album, Don't Shy Away.

Both the title track, "Don't Shy Away", whose video was directed by Dan, and the first song on the album, "I Fix My Gaze", whose video was directed by Emily. These are two of the dreamier songs on the record, you might say. They're also some of our favorites.

And if you're not yet sold on the record, here's some good news: if you pre-order it from the Sub Pop Mega-Mart right now, you'll be able to stream it in its glorious entirety on their site starting this Friday. (!!) (Of course, if you prefer to order it somewhere else, we would still very much appreciate it.)

Half Silences returns

Some of you may have noticed that Half Silences briefly disappeared from streaming services and YouTube. Never fear: it's back again, with an updated final mix for your enjoyment.

It's been a minute since we were last in touch, but we can finally share some good news:

Our new album, Don't Shy Away, is now available for pre-order from Sub Pop.

It'll be released on October 23rd— but if you pre-order it you'll be able to stream it at least a month before that. As usual, the first pressing of the vinyl will be special.

This album means a LOT to us—we spent more than a year working on it—and we'll have more to say (and show) soon. But if you like "Ocotillo", please share it with anyone you think might like it.
