Today I started learning French again.
Now you might say 'Mat, I'm one of the few people that remember you hated taking French in high school' and you'd be right (and also concerned 'coz no-one from then follows me here I don't think), I pretty much hated everything about, around and to do with high school. You might also say 'Mat, you're an idiot, you can hardly speak English let alone a second language!' which again, you'd be right, stop it.
After a series of poorly disguised insults, eventually you'd probably ask 'Why?', which was all I needed. You fuck. In response, I'd say 'Canada.' and simply walk away.
But really, one day I'd love to travel with someone and learn all about new musical scenes, styles, cultures, beliefs, all that jazz. I want to here the sounds of the cities I've never known, the sultry styles of strange suburbias... new music from new places by new people. That being said, this is the internet age and I could just find out everything I needed from the comfort of my room, but I hate this room, it's slowly killing me. I want to experience it, I want to feel it from the inside, I wanna start a band with strangers and know how it is to be a band from somewhere else.
So, French. Yes, French-Canadians. I assume everyone who reads this is aware of the fact they're a thing. Canada has been a long time dream of mine to go visit. But I don't just wanna see English Canada, how boring, I wanna know all of Canada, so this is a show of respect. Luckily, this freakin' Duolingo app (I ain't sponsored, I'm just hooked) is teaching me for free and I have learned more this morning (morning is subjective) than I did in high school. But I want to learn now, rather than not caring like I did back then. Sorry teach, no offence, ya bitch.
I also had to take a break while writing this to wash my car with my dad. I don't like cars. They're expensive to buy, expensive to maintain, expensive to fix, expensive to run, yet they're a staple of regular day to day life. Even though I'm a lazy ass that remains unemployed, I can still see even for anyone with a decent amount of money, cars are just a real fuck, they help a lot with moving around and what not, but other than that, they take up space, they pollute, they... I'm not sure where I'm going with this... Ah well, fuck cars, those useful fucking machines.
