I find happy endings unrealistic.

Loneliness is extremely loud.

Sinking quickly into the abyss. I gasp for air as I claw at the darkness trying desperately to stay alive. Breathing. I can hear my labored breath. The darkness, I can feel it on my skin. Cold. Empty. But my breath, fighting. My heart pounding. I know I am still of this world. I can feel something soft finally against my fingertips. My breathing relaxes slightly as I adjust to his new sensation in the dark. The softness, now in the palm of my hand. Followed by fingers. My heart speeds up as the adrenaline surges again. A grip. Solid. Warm. A tug to safety. Before one final slip as my hand pulls away. And once again the darkness that is not welcoming is my sole host. Until I scream and wake everyone in the house.
