But saying things like “people don’t want to pay for things that were once free” is really fucking tone deaf. The Watcher fans WANT to see their content. They cannot AFFORD to pay for another streaming service.

Y’all on the Watcher team need to sit down and humble yourselves. If I have to choose between 8 ghost hunting/mystery/whatever videos a month and food, I’m choosing food. Especially when free horror and true crime channels are a dime a dozen. I’m sure most of the Watcher fan base feels the same.

If Watcher is going to own this decision, they need to own the fact that they have purposely alienated a large majority of their fan base. They can’t just pretend that people are choosing to stop watching because they’re too lazy or too entitled to pay.

Groceries are expensive. Rent is going up. Baby formula costs 50 fucking dollars.

Nobody thinks Watcher has Mr. Beast money. Nobody is asking Watcher to raise production costs either, from what I’ve seen at least. In fact, most Watcher fans I’ve seen talking about this said they’d be perfectly fine with lower quality videos if they don’t have to pay for a streaming service.
