The past couple of days have been rough for grandma. Mom said she’s been halluncinating again. She is seeing people in her room. She even told my mom to tell them to get out. We’re wondering if they are angels waiting to take grandma. In a way it’s a nice thought. At least for me. I believe in angels and spirits. Some people don’t, and that’s okay. I still do.

I thought for my donor dilemma that I would make a pros and cons list for each. Well that didn’t quite go as planned. Both have many pros but only one has one con. Option 2, the new option had ADD as child. That’s the only con for him. And to me that’s not a huge deal or at least shouldn’t be. Of course if it was, at least it would make my decision easier.

What a long seven days. This past Friday my menses arrived so I was excited to be able to email me nurse and let her know. But of course I get her “out of office” reply. So I called the front desk and spoke with another nurse. She scheduled my cycle and had me start BCP Saturday. Usually it’s been on day 3 so I verified that she didn’t mean Sunday and she said to start on Saturday.

So remember how I told you that I had emailed my nurse asking her why I should stop birth control pills when I’m only a week away from my period, but then I got her out of office reply? Well the next day (Friday) I got an email first thing in the morning and she said she got to thinking, the night before, about my situation and she thinks it would be best to finish out the BCP.

I continued taking birth control pills for three more days like the doctor told me. They were hoping that it would bring my estrogen down from 97 to below 50. I went to my appointment this morning and had my ultrasound done. Lining looked great…again, and the same amount of follicles developing. All good there.

Last night was night 11 of my BCP, the amount that this cycle would allow in order for me to do this before the end of the year. Normally the BCP protocol is around 20 days for me. First Acupuncture Session

I had my second ultrasound today. Last week’s there was a gestational sac but it was empty. All week I have been so worried and scared. I was so happy to be pregnant that I feared it would be taken away.

Yesterday I had my first ultrasound. I was so excited and really was hoping I could see a little heartbeat and take a photo home. My appointment was at 8:30 and I arrived on time. IVF #3 Beta 1 and 2

I feel horrible that I haven’t been back on to give ya’ll an update on my next two beta tests. I’ve been tired and since I work on a computer all day, sometimes the last thing I want to do is open up my laptop.

Just a recap – my first beta was on August 19 (12dp5dt) and it was 116.

Beta #2 – August 21, 2014 (14dp5dt) was 243.

Beta #3 – August 25, 2014 (18dp5dt) was 1291

So everything looks great…

I’m a tad behind in posting this but last Thursday was my transfer day. I had three early blastocysts so they decided to put them all in hoping one sticks. Of course I was extremely nervous that all three would take but then I remind myself that that would probably NEVER happen – it’s not like I’m in my 20s with no issues.

Two perfect; some fragmented

My status call this morning told me that all six are still growing. There are 2 perfect 2-cell embryos, 2 2-cell with 10% fragmentation, and 1 3-cell with 10% fragmentation. I asked my nurse about fragmentation and she explained it as little dimples in the cells. The more there are the worse it can be. Ten percent, however, is still in the good/normal range.

Day after retrieval status call

I got the first status call this morning around 9:45 and the nurse asked me how I was doing since my retrieval. I told her I had pretty good cramps yesterday but today seems much better. She goes on to tell me that I’ll be bloated for a few days and if the cramps continue, to take the pain pills that were prescribed. I said I would.

This morning was retrieval day. My appointment was at 9:30am so I was there an hour an a half before. They got me checked it, vitals done, dressed in gown and comfy on the stretcher.
