this has undoubtedly been the toughest year for me when it comes to relationships. there’s no clear reason why, but i just felt like i didn’t want to be with anyone. i don’t know how long this phase will last, but i do know that if i were to meet someone now, i’d be in a good place. i’d welcome them with open arms. being alone has brought its own blessings too. i’ve had more time to rediscover myself and reconnect with my true purpose. i’m still on the journey, but i know i’m on the right track. i've learned how to comfort and reassure myself, and that, in itself, is proof that i'm truly growing. here’s to another year of becoming. the way i live and love will always be ever-changing :)

to love life, to love it even when you have no stomach for it and everything you’ve held dear crumbles like burnt paper in your hands, your throat filled with the silt of it. When grief sits with you, its tropical heat thickening the air, heavy as water more fit for gills than lungs; when grief weights you down like your own flesh only more of it, an obesity of grief, you think, How can a body withstand this? Then you hold life like a face between your palms, a plain face, no charming smile, no violet eyes, and you say, yes, I will take you I will love you, again.
