I feel like we are doing a disservice to the Nice Cishet People out there if we don't also add the caveat: There might be some nonsexual nudity. And it's literally fine for your kids to see that.
New York state law, for instance, is actually pretty chill about toplessness in public, so NYC Pride tends to see a lot of topless folks of all genders frolicking in the fountain at Washington Square Park in the unbearable summer heat. It is one of my very favorite things to do at Pride, it's beautiful and affirming and I fall in love with my community all over again every time.
I bring this up because last year, some photos of this frolicking made their way into culture war spaces, being labeled like "zomg look at these nude women* having a sex bacchanal in a public park in full view of children" but I promise you, there is no sex bacchanal; it's just some people playing in the fountain on a hot day and some of them take their tops off. Everybody's shorts are still on.
Well, except for this coconut I saw last year. Brazen, shameless stuff.
*(which is not to say that everyone with breasts is a woman but that's what these people say)
