Mau blinks when Jax's finger taps their forehead, their ear flicks in slight annoyance. But otherwise, Jax gets no other external reaction from them.

"I would be grateful to do it because you're my friend." Mau states blankly, "You understand that's like...what friendship is, right? Helping eachother even if you're an asshole sometimes? Like, unfortunately for you, I have enough friends that act like you out there, I know when humor and deflection are acting as coping mechanisms.
