I have never been able to read patterns started this one during my Hamilton phase (which if I’m being honest is Hamilton even a phase). Was making it solely off of pictures of the finished work and messed up my counting on the green dress. Have been refusing to go back to it cause I hate undoing stitching.

Finally making art again.

I find it difficult to not share my art process. But oversharing now may cause me to not dig deep and keep improving my process. The thoughts in each stitch must keep developing before I share. Just like a sentence needs a period, my art is still in the edit phase.

Social media makes it seem like I am failing or behind when I am not sharing every little step of the way. But by not sharing immediately means I can edit, change my process or scrap something altogether. It truly is like an urge that’s hard to control, the oversharing. So the less I share the easier it is.

I love the way this painting worked out. I started with the acrylic and water mix to make the initial landscape, then added my aqua-y leaf pattern, and then went in and added an eerie orange-pink-yellow sky and details to the land behind the patter. See this in person next week at my closing reception! (at Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA))
