Not a popular opinion on tumblr I know but I would argue character death is good for stories, actually, and often a death with long narrative consequences is much better use of a character than having them linger with no more important plot beats to hit.

Character death isn’t writers being mean to viewers or something characters don’t “deserve,” it’s an important part of narrative and plotting to give stories stakes and emotional beats. The work making you have an emotion is in fact the point, not something to avoid.

unpopular opinion probably but I actually like that ao3 doesn’t let people take back their kudos.

unlike social media platforms (which ao3 is not) where people unlike stuff whenever they think or find out the original posters’ moral compass doesn’t perfectly align with their own’s or whatever, and “likes” can be taken back at any time, ao3 treats kudos as something sacred. once you give it, it’s the author’s to keep forever.

Best part is if someone deletes their account, the kudos remains, and it just gets swapped over to a guest kudos instead. The body is gone but the love remains.

His eyes snap to her face. Hold there. He looks at her in that moment like he sees every part of her, the way that he used to look at her. "I was taken aback yesterday, when I first saw you," he confesses. "You never used to wear your hair like this."

Is this them silently acknowledging the blood bond they share?

I think this is Elena sort of alluding to it, but Klaus is not aware of it— he’s affected by her language choice because she affects him. For just a moment, that mask where he pretends not to care for her slips, but then he hurries to replace it.

He is very much going to need to be explicitly told about the blood bond. He’s sort of a fish who doesn’t realize he’s wet in this case.

After reading the preview I’m scared of Klaus asking her what Elijah proposed to her and Elena having no choice but to tell him the truth (assuming she’s still vulnerable to compulsion). Or him finding out by other means. His explosion of emotions will probably come from someone daring to offer Elena a way out of his control. Especially because it would be Elijah. I’m both terrified and ridiculously excited. 😭

Working as we speak on Elijah’s explanation to Elena for how exactly he is going to prevent this very thing hahahaha 😅 You’ll have to read and find out how successful he is though!

Hiii I hope everything’s well! I’m so hooked after reading the preview for ch69, you could write a shopping list and it’d be beautiful. I just wanted to ask, if Elijah is able to fulfill this offer and Elena is allowed back in mystic falls with her friends and family what would klaus’s reaction be like to her dynamic with Damon? Klaus has never seen the two interact properly and I don’t think he can comprehend the fact that Elena loves Damon as much as she does (when she removes Damon from her memory she tells Alaric the first time she fell in love with Damon is when he regifted stefans necklace to her on her birthday).

I actually think Klaus would kill Damon very quickly just to end his own personal torment/get rid of this hugely annoying roadblock. Like, yes, it would definitely take him aback that Elena has this intense love for someone who wasn't even on his radar, at least not like that, but on the other hand... he's not Stefan and he's certainly not Rebekah. Klaus has no personal feelings of affection holding him back to just... clean up that messy situation a tad. Elena would be distraught but honestly girl is fucked up she would probably come around eventually. Right??
