My name is Violet.

It was a song by a punk band from New Jersey on a mix tape an older girl made for me.

That lead me into this world of dirty record stores and sneaking into night clubs.

The way things change – kids come and go, friendships start and others end.

Relationships blossom and fall apart.

I don’t invest in them anymore.

You’re either on the bus or you aren’t.

The neighborhood and its dives won’t last forever so we walk these city streets, drinking at clubs all night and sleeping all day.

Rome is burning and we’re dancing in the flames.

Eventually these dirty streets will be lined with young urban professionals stumbling from one sports bar to another,

It starts like this –

You feel isolated and know you’re different from your classmates.

Somehow you hear a song or see a video and that becomes the rabbit hole.

You can either continue to feel lonely and isolated or you can jump in.

You become a wash of bands and freaks and the strange people your parents don’t want you to hang out with out of fear that you might become one.

You find a place in this cacophony of black clad weirdos, punks, skinheads, drugs, music and underage drinking.

Then you become the person your parents warn you not to become.

For some it’s a thing you do until you graduate high school or college and move onto your next phase in your life.

Sometimes you get trapped, reliving and longing for your glory days.

Then sometimes, in the blink of any eye, everything you know, the chaos, the anarchy, the concerned parents, the drugs and the music all align and your life is changed forever.

All that’s left is the fall.

Here's a quick update --

We're 100% done writing issue #1. It's come a long long way since it was a screenplay and it's way stronger in this format. We're now coming up with concept art and seeing what these characters look like. Everything's looking bad ass, thanks to Tanya Skotzko.  

Still working on it, still gonna make it happen. At some point (and I don't know when), there will be a Kickstarter or Gofundme.
