Liv raised an eyebrow. She knew who her father was, it was hard not to know the members of the council, she also knew he didnât take Metformin. She sighed as she looked around as if someone was there to see what she was about to do. Liv went to the med cabinet and took a bottle of the pills. âYes I know who your father is.â she placed the small bottle on her hand. âI also know he doesnât have diabetes.â she whispered âNext time you need something you come to me. But donât come here, you might not find me next time.â
It didnât take two seconds for Liv to caught on the otherâs strange and odd behaviour. âHey! You. Come here!â she called her. It was obvious that the girl needed something and if she just ran away sheâd get caught. Liv rushed so she could grab the girl by her arm before she could reach the doors âYouâll get caught if you just run off.â Liv hissed âWhat do you need and why do you need it?â Liv knew that some people that died in the Ark could have been saved, but the council wouldnât allow the resource limits to be exceeded. Her mother died saving someone and she couldnât be more proud of her name for that.Â
âI am. I can see that youâre too.â Liv nodded with a small smile âI know... I guess our grandchildren might see it, right?â Liv scoffed âI hope they think of me when they roll around in the dirt for the first time.â
Liv raised an eyebrow before looking around âThat table over there, you see it? Itâs free.â she pointed to an empty table not too far from where she sat. If this guy thought sheâd move, he was wrong. âBut if you really want to sit at this table you can join me.â the girl smirked while she mentally added his face to the jerk list.Â

âSit her here.â Liv motioned to the a free stretcher where the two people placed the drunk girl âThanks, Iâll take care of her.â she thanked while she suppressed a smile. Once they were alone she finally adressed the girl â How much did you have to drink?â she asked as she checked her pupillary Light reflex with a small flashlight. âYour skin is a bit dry, youâre a bit dehydrated.â she kept rambling as she reached for the IV fluid bag preparing everything so she could leave the girl the most comfortable as she recovered. âYou can lay down if you want.âÂ
â FEEL FREE to come in.â  voice filled with frustration, soren sighed. an appropriate response to make as she looked down at the mess surrounding her. the few personal items she had were scattered everywhere, chair knocked over. all the handwork of  the heavy handed guard whoâd had the misfortune of being on the receiving end of her stream of insults during YET ANOTHER surprise inspection.  â you know, iâm actually starting to think the guards are just looking for excuses to see me now â itâs kind of  flattering, in a weird way.â  her head dropped back against the metal wall behind her bed as she looked up at the other person,  âfancy helping a girl out? â
Liv heard the commotion coming from the room as she passed nearby. It must be another inspection, she thought. They were way too agressive and destructive to her liking. She peeked inside only coming in when told to. âI donât like them either.â Liv confessed, for people who knew what happened to her mother it wouldnât be a surprise. âOf course. Itâs ironic, sometimes guards are the most corrupt.â the girl pointed as she picked up a cahir that had been tossed over âBut donât let anyone hear me.â
Liv was going on with her day. As always there wasnât anything major for her to deal with. She didnât want something to happen to someone of course, but sometimes she wished she could treat something other than colds and small work injuries. âWhat is it?â she asked as she heard footsteps of someone entering the room.
Peace and quiet. Whilst the other guards looked perfectly content with the quiet evening in the dining hall â Adriana was tapping her foot and fiddling with a loose thread on her uniform. Boredom was setting in, but it was still another hour until she could end her shift. She was silently begging for some action, a chance to jump away from the wall she had positioned herself at.Â
Distraction came suddenly, and she nearly let out a sigh of relief before she ran over to the commotion. It had been even better than sheâd hoped for â a brawl, starting to turn physical â she could barely contain the smile on her face. As soon as sheâd managed to break the battling parties apart and they were safely in the hold of her fellow guards, she turned her eyes towards the bystanders.
âDid anyone see what happened?â She looked around, an inviting, almost alluring expression on her face. âAny intel would be much appreciated.â
This wasnât something she wasnât used to witness, normally Liv just took action after the fight when there were some wounds to clean. âI didnât hear what they were on about, but it caused them to fight.â Liv shook her headas she got a few steps closer âI just wanna see if they need any medical attention.â
most of augustâs days had a consistent routine, typically involving a trip to breakfast in the dining hall, and sit in his usual normal seat an empty table, then check in with his parents if they were around. heâd then disappear off to work for hours on end and usually forget to take a break in between to eat. by the time he was done, heâd make a quick stop to the hall, and grab whatever food was available, sitting in the same spot as the morning. this night, though, august was about to sit down with his tray (that held a small amount of food) when he noticed a figure sat in his usual spot, which caused him to stand at the table, a blank stare at the person. âare you lost?â
âNo, Iâm quite conscious of my surroundings, thank you.â Liv answered looking up at the other. âAre you lost?â

mecha station was relatively quiet. devin was trying to fix a space suit that had seen better days. his helmet sat a top his head, as he stared down at the top of the suit. there was a small piece of metal that kept the suit air tight and this one was broken. how could it even break like that? his hand gripped the plasma torch tightly while using the bottom of his fist to push the hood down over his head, the shield protected his eyes from the bright light of the plasma arc weld as it molded the metals back together. it wasnât the best looking repair, but it would hold. devin knew that much. lifting his hood back up, his lips broke out in a large grin as he appreciated his work. the large metal door to where he was working gave a creak telling him that someone just came in, âhey, come on back here. just finishing up repairs.â not moving from where he sat, if they needed him theyâd come back or find who they were looking for.
âI was told someone got injured around here. I was just checking.â Liv got closer to the other â You donât seem to be injured.â the girl stated looking around at his work.
bent at the knee, francisco hovered above a tray of seedlings with a watering can in hand. âso, your root system is going to suck up all this water, the roots are like your mouth, and youâre going to get what you need, do some photosynthesizing, and then itâs going to transpire out of you, like youâre urinating.â the conversation wasnât loud, but it was loud enough for anyone less than five feet away to understand that it was a conversation with the plants. he stood when he was done watering them, brushing his palms on his jeans. âoh, fuck,â a murmur under his breath before he cleared his throat, âhey â didnât expect you to drop by today⌠didnât expect anyone.â
âClearly my services are needed here. There were some reports of people going crazy and are starting to talk to plants. As a doctor I must see to it.â Liv said as she tried to hide a smirk âOf course you wouldnât know anyone like this, would you?â
The dining hall was too filled for Felix to bother hunting down a seat. He spilled into the hallway outside it. He sat next to a large window that currently had a decent view of the moon. Unlike in the crammed dining hall, here he felt like he could breathe. The view wasnât too bad either. Dinner with a view. He started eating, but he didnât get too far into it before his meal was interrupted. Apparently someone else also wasnât interested in eating in the packed dining hall, or all alone in their room. âNo, the seatâs not taken. You can sit there, if you want. Or did you want something else?â
âI wasnât really going to ask.â Liv stated as she sat opposite to Felix, not really looking at him. The moon had her attention instead. âYou know, my mother used to tell me that the moon isnât this pretty when seen from earth.â the girl pointed as she took a bite from her food.Â
unfamiliar laughter filled the hallways as kinsa cautiously opened the door to the living quarter she had visited. waiting for the voices to become hushed, her fingers grasped the bottle of pills hidden in the front pocket of her coat before stepping out into view. the female had lost count of how many times she had offered favors to the high ranking authority in exchange for medicinal drugs. she wasnât proud of this new lifestyle, but it was necessary in order to keep her father from writhing in agony for he was in the last stage of brain cancer. hasty fingers buttoned up her blouse as she wander about inattentively. her focus was soon interrupted by a startling voice calling her name from behind. she was frozen on the spot and mortified at the thought of how much they had seen. they called her name once more before she finally reacted. âwhat are you doing here? you scared me.â it sounded more like an accusation than a question. she quickly forced a smile on her face, hoping she hadnât been caught leaving a married manâs home.Â
âI could ask you the same thing. Are you okay?â Liv asked out of concern âYou look nervous.â
