I did a reading on how Ruby and Weissâs relationship may develop in Vol 7 cause why not đ¤ˇđťââď¸ This is a spoiler-free post.
Top Row (Ruby): Rubyâs character will pretty much remain the same throughout Vol 7. If anything, she will only further strengthen her primary characteristics as she continues to grow more comfortable in her role as a Huntress and achieves more mastery over her silver eyes. Sheâs fully aware of the challenges that will come, but she is prepared to face them head on (3 of Wands). She knows the journey will be difficult, given how Atlas is a society where not everything is as it seems, but sheâll have people she can rely on (Reverse 5 of Pentacles)
Middle Row (Weiss): Weiss will definitely have a tougher time this volume. She will be put in a position where multiple parties will be fighting for her favor (7 of Cups). I can see RWY, Ironwood, Winter, and Jacques trying to project their respective truths onto her, and her status as a Schnee makes her even more of a target. I also get the feeling if Watts meets RWBY, in particular Weiss, he may play some mind tricks to convince her he is on their side (Reverse Magician). This may hinder Weissâs growth initiallyâwhile her character has grown tremendously since Vol 1, she never got the chance to resolve her traumas from Atlas in Vol 4, and arguably parts of her, such as her defiance, may have regressed. I also see her being challenged with her views on Faunus too as she may see firsthand the conditions the miners work in. I see her going through an existential crisis (Reverse Queen of Swords).
Bottom 5 (Relationship): I personally donât see development in their relationship until the end of the volume. Ruby and Weiss will be dealing with their own trials in the beginning, more so Weiss which actually may hinder their relationship at first due to Weissâs sometimes cold demeanor. The team has just recovered from a harrowing ordeal in Argus (Reverse 6 of Swords), but a lot will happen in a short amount of time that I donât think Ruby and Weiss will have breathing space to process how theyâre feeling quite yet (8 of Wands). This will lead to miscommunication (Reverse 2 of Wands), but by the end of the volume I see them making up and their relationship growing stronger (Ace of Wands and Knight of Cups).
Additional Notes: The Queen of Cups represents a figure who is compassionate, giving, and intuitive. Interestingly enough, the cup she is holding bears some spatial resemblence to the Relic of Truth Rubyâs been holding onto, hence why I associated this card to Ruby.
The Queen of Swords represents a figure who is extremely knowledgeable and can decipher the truth from lies. However, in the reverse position, the Queen is more ruthless and cold. She is also holding a sword, which matches Weissâ weapon of choice.
