She’s not listening. At least not to him. 

Kate can hear the wind, the traffic in the city below, a police siren somewhere off in the distance but that was just what the city sounded like. Never ending and relentless, never sleeping, never stopping. 

There’s a comfort in that, and she knows it sounds messed up but the idea that the world will revolve on and on and on without her is strange comfort. This city doesn’t miss individuals and she knows that. 

If she were to simply cease existing, it would leave little trace on the world, and she thinks, in some ways, she likes that idea. She thinks about it a lot - leaving. Sick of the people here, sick of the ties that bind here here, sick of the people she wishes she weren’t related to, sick of the snow, sick of the cold Atlantic wind. 

“...do you ever feel like a tourist here?”

The SOLDIER moved closer. Slow. Almost CASUALLY, despite the way grey eyes remained sharp and alert on the woman's form. Boots finding purchase on the ledge of the building beside her. Face turned toward the edge, FEELING the updraft of chilled air bluster up from the street below. Feeling it his dance over his face. Pushing through his hair like icy fingers against his scalp.

The comment is simple. Easy and clean and non judgemental. Yet his limbs remain ready. Ready to grab. To HOLD. To pull back against ghosts should the hand that they offer into the traffic below get a little to enticing.

' I don't think it's her lack of introspection that kept her cutting into people. You can TRAIN most people into a way of thinking.' I've seen-...I've forced terrified gentle little girls go from crying, frightened fragility to RUTHLESS KILLERS - but underneath it all, most of them still hold that gentleness. '

Pulling a hair tie from the pocket of his sweatpants, Bucky gathers up the loose OVERGROWN locks of dark hair into his hands, combing it away from his face haphazardly with mismatched fingers to tie it in place. ' Some of those girls however....they never had that GENTLNESS to begin with. Never that FEAR. They thrived on it. Thrived on the kill, on the pain they could cause. '

Turning to Robert, he let out a soft breath. Though his features remained cool and hard. ' Introspection doesn't work on them....you either keep them close or you find a way to keep the....contained. 'Coupe is one of them. ' ~
