When I was writing these down, I noticed a trend in some of the bullet points, so I decided to group the "same" concepts together. This doesn't mean they're exclusively different fics, but can be used in one amalgamation of a fic. Or something along those lines.

Teddie being in a family

Teddie tries living with the other Investigation Team before the Hanamura family decided that that's their kid and takes him back.

Teddie finally has shame when he accidentally calls Ms. Hanamura "Mom" and Mr. Hanamura "Dad".

Ms. Hanamura finding The Letter after Teddie comes back, stages a confrontation for the truth (Yosuke told them Teddie stayed with Yu at the time).

The dreaded sex talk, but with the parents instead because even they don't trust Yosuke with it. Maybe Teddie will get revelations here.

Teddie meets the Hanamura's grandparents. They... Actually, he doesn't know what they feel towards him.

Teddie gets the adopted kid treatment in the family gathering. Especially when he's obviously one compared to everyone.

Teddie draws a family tree because he needs to know these people's names.

Teddie makes a cousin-rivalry.

Teddie and Yosuke

Yosuke dreading the fact he has to give a shovel talk to Teddie's partner.

Teddie explores the wonders of the city Yosuke lived before. A lot of melancholy from Yosuke here.

Yosuke and Teddie has a heart-to-heart, awkwardly, for once.

Yosuke teaches Teddie human things. This fails spectacularly.

Teddie having a very-awkward-for-everyone-involved puppy crush on Yosuke and it backfires on him. Also gets brother-zoned by Yosuke (which Teddie later reciprocates) (human relationships are messy).

Teddie experiences humanity

(Alternative of Yosuke Crush) Just in general Teddie having uncomfortable crushes because it would be fun. Also, people do have those and it would be nice to explore that from the "inhumane" character who doesn't understand at first.

Teddie deciding his name on legal documents.

Teddie thinks about the future and what he wants out of it.

Teddie gets good old fashioned bullied at school and how he deals with it.

Teddie studies the sciences... He's surprisingly good at it?

Teddie as an engineering major. Just for funnies.

Actually, most of my favorite characters work/do logistics, so I might as well put Teddie through the suffering. Would he be good at it? ...Not at first.

Teddie from outsider POV (does not mean the other concepts can't be, but this group is exclusively outsider POV ideas)

Teddie grows up and falls in love in Inaba, through the perspective of Hanamura Yosuke.

Ms. Hanamura drags Teddie to get diagnosed. Cue confused doctors and psychologists (Ms. Hanamura just wanted Teddie to be diagnosed with ADHD, or autism, or anything really.)

Teddie gets caught making out at school and Mr. Hanamura has to come to the rescue. Bonus points he makes a joke about how Teddie gets his milestones faster than Yosuke.

Rise slowly and surely watches Teddie get into the entertainment industry with mixed feelings.

Teddie gets hanahaki disease

Haven't decided what Teddie ship to put or even if it's the romantic variant of hanahaki disease, but the premise is that Teddie gets one because of TV World logic. Twitter thoughts below.

would teddie get fictional diseases because of you know tv world shenanigans. i know it got cleansed at the end of the game but what if teddie is still connected to the people's subconsciousness. all im saying is teddie with hanahaki disease would make everyone panic.

teddie wouldn't even get it. one day he just coughs out flowers and goes "well that's a human thing now" and go about his day. he pins the flower next to his rose. then he coughs out flowers AND blood, "well, the flowers must have thorns on them" he then forgets about it

maybe he reads it in a manga but doesn't connect it. he just goes "oh people do that too!" this goes on until he does this shit in the middle of junes where yosuke gets called over because a customer is worried about teddie PUKING BLOOD??? and flowers?????

The original point was just how funny would it be to make the Investigation Team panic because of a fictional disease, but then it turned kinda horrifying because it's a fictional disease, and they can't go to a doctor about it.

They have to trust in manga to get Teddie healthy again, and it isn't even guaranteed it's going to cure him, because there are a lot of interpretations of hanahaki disease, even if the popular one is reciprocating romantic love. Even that's terrifying, because it's either that or getting it removed surgically, which, again, doctors in their world can't do.

Basically, author throws Teddie into the torture chamber.

im very fond of imagining teddie in normal uncomfortable social situations. a group of guys bring up the beauty pageant and laughing at him in a hangout. a girl gets uncomfortable with him when he brings up flirting. a mother makes a face when he gets something wrong

[QRT from above] actually im more fond of imagining teddie actually having a conversation with yosukes parents without yosuke present. two people trying to genuinely communicate to this teenager that they housed, this teenager that seems so clueless to the world to the point that it's concerning.

in general i just want to see teddie interacting with people outside of the investigation team. people who don't know what his deal is. i want to see teddie trying to connect with the world around him, not as a mascot nor a shadow pretending as a human, but as an actual person

Unrequited Narukuma

one day i will write unrequited narukuma where teddie's feelings are actually more serious than he lets on and is making everything awkward because he wants the feelings to be treated seriously than just a joke

the one who he confides the most is, surprisingly, rise, because she gets it. she really does.

As said above, it would be nice to explore Teddie's feelings, especially if he himself didn't realize how serious it is and how he wants it to be treated seriously. In canon, it's really easy to see how Teddie does have a crush on Yu, but it doesn't get treated seriously, Rise style. A mix of complex human relationships and queerness will mess this bear up!

This would also have more Rise and Teddie bonding, just because they have so many things to relate. That persona awakening together in the stripper club isn't for nothing, people!

Teddie and the Hanamura family experiences Japan bureaucracy

I refuse to believe that after genuinely integrating himself to the family (and after the whole serial kidnapping and running away), the Hanamura parents doesn't try to get Teddie a Japanese citizenship, then growing desperate at the fact that Teddie doesn't have Anything to prove his existence, except himself, of course. This leads to a rabbithole interrogation of who is Teddie's birth parents? (Himself.) Where are they now? (Again, himself.) Do you even have parents? (...No.) ...How did you come to Inaba then? (Yosuke helped me, I've been... All alone before him.)

So, after interrogating the hell out of a slightly uncharacteristically terrified and uncomfortable Teddie, the Hanamura parents decided that they need to get Teddie an actual legal identity. This, of course, is a long and rough journey, because Teddie doesn't have any records from he was born to now, so they now have to build one up.

Basically, this premise is just Teddie experiencing actual legal society after living with only himself, and the intricacies of it all. Also, don't be fooled, this is a Teddie and Hanamura parents fic wrapped up in legal jargon.

I should also note that I do not how the Japanese government deal with "off-the-grid" children.

Yosuke's internalized homophobia dealing with Teddie

With so many Yosuke having internalized (and external) homophobia fics, I kinda want to explore it in a different angle. Most of them are seen from his POV and/or his love interest. I think it would be fun if it's one of those "I don't mind gay people, just make sure you're not." situations where that tends to happen in families more. It hinges on the belief that other people can be this uncomfortable thing because I don't care about them nor does it affect me, but you, someone who I care and are my family, can't be this uncomfortable thing.

Because it's implied that Yosuke and Kanji had that conversation where love is love and all, but Yosuke still balks at the idea of queerness. Yosuke cares about Kanji, he cares about the Investigation Team after all, that's why he had that conversation with him, but I do think there's a degree of separation he can subconsciously do to Kanji where he's someone he cares about, yes, but he's not family.

Then Teddie comes in with a wrecking ball.

Important points for this fic would be:

Yosuke would have to already consider Teddie to be apart of his family, consciously or subconsciously.

Teddie finally decides to learn about queerness and talk to Yosuke about it.

Yosuke grappling at the fact that he's uncomfortable with Teddie, which isn't unheard of, but the intensity of it scares him.

Probably some distancing happens and they both have to deal with it.

I haven't thought about how this would be resolved, and this WILL be resolved, especially if the Investigation Team gets nosy. But... It's just a neat angle of Yosuke's homophobia to explore.
