- something to look forward to. it doesnât have to be a big thing. it can be going into your soft bed, wearing warm pajamas after a nice shower, or making yourself a cute breakfast. this can also be a goal you really want to achieve, like getting better at drawing or getting the courage to talk to new people.
- someone to love. this can be many people;your friends, your family, your pet, your favorite singer or your crush. try to spend more time talking to or including them in your life somehow. although solitude is nice itâs really good for mental health to spend time with people u love.
- something to love. this can be a hobby you like doing, whether itâs making art, coding, going to coffee shops, baking cakes or listening to music. do more of these things in your day, and find a reason to wake up excited in the morning.
- self love and self acceptance. this means forgiving your mistakes, learning to laugh at embarrassing things, not dwelling on the past, and stopping bad thoughts about yourself. this is self care; dancing alone in your room, going for walks, listening to happy songs, and taking care of yourself like going to bed earlier and drinking enough water. remember youâre a beautiful human who deserves happiness and an amazing life. :)

Iâm trying something new for my Latin I studentsâ final project, and this is either going to be my best idea all year or a complete disaster, and Iâm not sure which yet. Each student has to create a âLatin Survival Guideâ for a future Latin I student, a packet including an overview of the most important info they learned throughout the year, with room for humor and creative freedom (I am expecting a large number of memes and am 100% okay with this).
Right now Iâm proofreading their cover letters addressed to their students, and they are hilarious.
10 small tips to improve your productivity
Who can resist reading another little post full of tips to help you get more work done? Here is a few things that I find useful when trying to get myself motivated.
Clear desk, clear mind - I like to organise things before I start working. If things are messy, I get a little preoccupied and procrastinate even more. My suggestion is clear your desk, sort everything youâll need to study and get on!
The two minute rule - If a task that needs to be done takes less than two minutes, just do it. My dad has often suggested that this is a great way to sort out your priorities and so far it has worked for me. Things like check my emails, cross off events from my planner, file something away donât take long but get you in the mood for productivity. As they say âobject in motion, stay in motionâ.
Break your time up - Schedule your study time and any breaks you need to take. This helps structure your day and acts as a motivation to get things done. Especially if you can reward yourself at the end!
Leave your phone alone - Like most people I use my phone constantly but when Iâm trying to work, it is best to leave it alone. Out of sight, out of mind. Try leaving it on silent and behind you so you arenât tempted to pick it up after every beep. Use your break times to check it.
Find your top three to five priorities - Seeing a long list of things to do is usually, for some people, kind of counterproductive. Figure out the main things that need to be done and work on those. If youâre able to complete those main things, youâll feel like youâve accomplished the days necessities and may even want to complete some more.
Try using a mindmap instead of a to do list - Apparently using a mindmap layout instead of a traditional list can help boost productivity. It is a little more funky way to see all your outstanding tasks and might not look as overwhelming as a super long list.
Wear headphones - You donât have to always listen to things but it can help block out any noise that can distract you. If youâre someone that likes some music, try songs with little or no words. This is a great playlist by Spotify.
Donât multitask - As much as you think you can do it, trying to multitask usually ends up in a confused mess and takes twice the time. Stick to one task at a time. If you think of something you need to do, write it down and do it later.
Change things up - Doing the same things in the same place can get boring. Make the effort every now and then to change where youâre studying or how youâre studying. This can include moving your studying from the desk to the kitchen table for a change of scenery, or making flash cards instead of annotating your notes. Studying with a family member or friends is a fun way to get some work done!
Be positive - Most people have times when they just donât want to study or anything, it is natural. However it is not worth sitting staring at your books in an unmotivated mood just waiting to feel inspired. If youâre not feeling it, do something else for a while. Come back to it a bit later and have another go. Usually walking away and coming back is all you need to feel more productive.

Donât emotionally blackmail others. They hurt you? Let them know and then move on. Itâs between the two of you and not the world.
Cook dinner. Cook dinner and listen to music, the radio, or a podcast.
Treat yourself to candles and flowers. Be your own cheerleader.
Take naps. Take a cat nap on a Sunday afternoon with the blinds open and the fan on high.
Drink your water, eat your vegetables. Take care of your body.
Never have time to take off your jewelry before bed, but always have time to take off your makeup. Your nighttime skin regime is important.
Mystery is beautiful. You donât need to reveal much of or about yourself.
Never appear other than as you are. Donât lie about yourself. Embrace who you are at your core.

1. learning is better than knowing. you donât need to be a genius to do well in school, only dedicated enough to actively pursue your education.Â
2. straight Aâs =/= intelligence. donât let your grades define you; test grades canât capture the passion in your eyes and the resilience in your bones.
3.  friendships change, but sometimes that's a good thing. some relationships are bested by time, and people grow apart. in the absence of others, you may find that youâve been missing out on whatâs been right in front of you the entire time.Â
4. rest is important. your health is always more important than school. while stress is inevitable, never be afraid to take a day off, or talk to a trusted adult. Mental health is just as valid as physical health.
5. your life is just beginning. i know that failing test grade or the fact that your crush rejected you seems like the end of the world, but i promise you that itâs not the end. life is literally the longest thing any of us will experience, so fall in love with living. think of every opportunity as just another beginning.Â
