Hey honey! I was wondering if we could have some song sorters for Halsey? Especially for her new album! But if you have the time I would love to have sorters for all! Love you ā¤ļø
absolutely! here's the link for The Great Impersonator š«¶ i don't have time to make all the previous albums right now but throughout the week when i have spare time i'll make them and add them to my masterlist!!
don't leave me!
I find the whole argument for the midnights cover being the back cover is that the person making the argument has never seen an album with the tracklist on the front cover, but just because you havenāt seen them doesnāt mean they donāt exist.
The first thing I thought of comparison wise to the midnights cover was The Weekndās early mixtapes which all actually have a lot of similarities to the midnights cover. Iām not a font expert but Iām pretty sure thatās also Helvetica (bold) which is what Taylor used on mindnights. If not the exact font itās a very similar clean line font that is used pretty often.
If you want to look back historically this was also a pretty common practice especially in the 60s/70s on record covers (which may mean thereās a 60/70s influence but who knows). Taylor is also obviously using vinyl records as an influence because of the side a/side b categories for the songs.
letās settle this shit but do NOT reblog if youāre gonna be modest about it like a little BITCH. anyway privilege check tell me which ones apply to you: hot, funny, can dance, can do math, can spell, can drive, can cook

Minor Abusers
tw// all types of abuse, descriptive physical abuse, bullying, sexual harrassment and assault, mentions of rape
This is another controversal post. But honestly? I'm tired of this topic not being talked about. Before commenting, read the entire post and try to see where we're coming from. That's all I ask. So, contronversal post, but here we go.
Minor abusers exist and can cause just as much damage and trauma as adult abusers, if not more. As hard as it is sometimes to catch adult abusers, it's even harder to catch minor abusers. This is because no one wants to believe their kid, or kids in general, are capable of harming someone else. But they most definitely exist and unfortunately, minors who abuse others have become normalized and even expected.
Bullying is a type of abuse. The definitions of physical bullying and physical abuse are pretty much the same (causing physical harm to someone repetitively). This also goes for the other types of abuse and bullying. It's not unknown that minors specifically (although adults are not excluded from this) bully and harm others. Teachers and the school systems do nothing to stop this, but that's a different topic. It's not uncommon for adults to, intentionally or not, ignore when kids bring this to their attention.
Another unfortunately common one is physical abuse from siblings. Allowing siblings to physically fight and not breaking it up is horrible parenting. But it's even worse when you don't break it up when one isn't fighting back. I don't care if the one not fighting "needs to toughen up" or "needs to be prepared for the real world" or the one who's fighting "needs an outlet for their anger." You are still allowing abuse to happen in your watch. They are a minor, your kid, an abusing someone else (usually another of your kids). I'm hoping I don't need to explain more. Even if it's not you hurting them, they are still getting physically abused at home and no one cares because it's their siblings.
The most normalized one, unfortunately, is sexual assault or harrassment. In one of our middle schools, it was a /game/ among students to sexually harrass/assault someone. Depending on the day of the week, it was a game that too many students participated in to touch/slap personal parts of a person's body. The teachers let it happen. Not only that, but catcalling is insanely normalized as well. How can you not consider sexual assault/harrassment as abuse?
That's only a few examples. Now you're probably thinking "Yeah but they'll grow out of it" or "Okay but we can't punish them, they're kids." No. The point of this post is that you should punish them. Ground them from things, give them extra chores for a period of time(not more, literally anything punishing. This does not mean hit them or hurt them in any way as a punishment. That's wrong too. But they won't learn it's wrong and will keep doing it if they aren't punished for abusing others. Not being punished prevents them from learning it's wrong, and sometimes even prevents them from growing out of it. And yes. Sometimes, depending on the severity of the abuse (such as going as far as to rape someone or cause near death), the police need to be contacted and it should be investagated.

Just a friendly reminder that I would never have thought it was possible to go back and remake my previous work, uncovering lost art and forgotten gems along the way, if you hadnāt emboldened me. Red is about to be mine again, but it has always been ours. Tonight we begin again. Red (my version) is out now.

why are there no laptops with dvd players anymore....what happened ššš
Unpopular opinion, but "Look What You Made Me Do" is one of the most underrated Swift Songs of all time
iāve been thinking about how evermore has this theme of words that are going unsaid. things written that will go unsent; things sung that will never be heard. things like that. and there are callbacks in between songs too. so ātis the damn season sounds like a practice phone callācowboy like me calls back to this with the line ānow iām waiting by the phone / like iām in an airport barāābut of course when the actual call is made most of that will go unsaid. dorothea reads like an unsent letter, complete with direct address. in evermore, she sings about āletters addressed to the fire,ā or letters written and then burned, never to be read. in closure, a letter is received but spurned; a song is sung about how the narratorās reply is basically that there will be no reply. still, this will go unsaid. the sender of the letter whom the singer of closure is addressing will never know of her sentiment that she doesnāt need the closure, because she isnāt sending any closure back to him. this echoes throughout the album, this lack of closure due to leaving things unsaid. in tolerate it, the narrator sings in the bridge that she could leave, she could end the relationship, ābelieve me, i could do it.ā but in the end she returns to that same āi sit and watch youā lineāshe doesnāt express her concerns (if itās all in my head tell me now) and she doesnāt leave what she suspects to be an unhealthy relationship. she says nothing. marjorie: a love letter to memory, basically. maybe the only letter sent, but it, too, will go unread. champagne problems: an undelivered monologue reasoning why she said no. the addressee of that monologue will never receive it, either. the whole album is tinged with regret, often for how things went, but also often for not being able to reach out. here are all these collected words unsaid. letters addressed to the fire. an album in autumn colorsāor the colors of dying flames.
To add to this,
gold rush being a single thought in which she invents this whole relationship and then immediately shakes it off as something that cannot happen. āI almost jump inā being at the start and the end of the song really punctuates the disappearance of this thought process.
No body no crime is humorous about the withheld thoughts, literally saying āI think he/she did it but I just canāt prove itā over and over to show that these are just suspicions.
And in happiness āI/you havenāt met the new me yetā because they donāt yet have the ability to say all of this to their ex-lover. The gatsby references also relate to this as Daisy knows that itās ātoo lateā for Gatsby to win her over.
Coney Island is a duet of two lovers saying all they need to say to each other to themselves as they sit alone wallowing in their good memories. They are both ālost again with no surprisesā because theyāre both too prideful to tell the other what theyāre feeling.
Ivy is of course all about secrets, and the scared anticipation of almost wanting to see the shit hit the fan (āspring breaks looseā), but also not quite having the guts to make that happen. (āBut so does fearā)
Long story short has that beautiful moment where she asks her past self to give up on the idea of revenge. āLong story shortā in itself is a phrase used to diminish a story into something trivial and not worth the time it takes to tell it.
Right where you left me suggests that the character refuses to allow herself the closure she deserves. She could get up and accept the decision her lover made, but she chooses to wallow in the pain.
Itās time to go is like the moment just before you get to long story short, where you realise thereās just no point in saying the things you want to say, if you really want to make your point and move on, YOU have to get up and leave, and how you feel that moment in your soul. You donāt need to wait for a sign, you just know!
Sometimes you read a line from a book and itās like something from your own head or something from your journal. And that part of you is a bit more defined, a bit sharper, and a bit easier to understand and explain to others.
