I really like a lot this song for the ending of citrus because If you are read the last volumes of the citrus manga this song connect a lot with the situation in this moment in the manga.

The scene with Yuu and Touko alone together in the student council room is filled with so much raw fucking sexual tension that honestly it almost feels like you’re choking on it the whole time. I feel like I say this every week but there’s really something to be said with the writing and directing of this show, especially during scenes like these ones. This kind of stuff is genuinely hard because how exactly do you get across that a character is turned on in a show like this one without it feeling gross or over the top or weird? doubly so for girls and triply so for teenage girls. You need to make sure the audience understands what’s happening and feels it straight down to their gut and it needs to feel a little bit uncomfortable because that’s just kind of how this situation would actually feel, but it also needs to feel genuine and not give you the sense that you’re the voyeur here. In other words it needs to be jam packed with character writing and devoid of traditional fanservice. 

This scene captures all of that effortlessly. You get how horribly, awkwardly turned on Touko is, you get that she’s incredibly nervous and uncomfortable and knows she wants to do this but doesn’t really know how and is pushing forward anyway because of being horribly and awkwardly turned on. The way that Touko almost seems sure of herself at first but quickly starts to stammer and finds that she suddenly can’t meet Yuu’s eyes, the way that they just lean into each other and Touko barely manages to get out her emotions and then they just stay in silence for a good beat, letting things sink in and letting Touko attempt to calm herself. All of it is so Touko and all of it so true to life. 

You get the quiet and awkward way that Yuu confides in Touko, the silence after they pause and Yuu thinks about whether she really wants to kiss Touko, deciding that she does, and really I don’t think Yuu even understands why she wants to kiss Touko or what she’s hoping to get out of it but knows that she has a physical or emotional want for it and pushing forward anyway, just like Touko.

In Iran in 1943, a group of Polish soldiers found and adopted an orphaned brown bear cub whose mother had been shot and killed by hunters. They gave him the name Wojtek, meaning “joyful warrior.” When Wojtek was first rescued, he had swallowing problems; the soldiers fed him with condensed milk and gradually marmalade, honey, syrup, and fruit. The soldiers would reward him with beer which quickly became his favourite. He also enjoyed stealing and eating cigarettes. Wotjek was taught to salute when he was greeted and his main hobby was wrestling with the soldiers and swimming.

Due to Wojtek being an animal, he was not allowed into theatres of operation, much to the dismay of the soldiers who raised him. They knew that they couldn’t give up on him - he had quickly became their boost to morale and their unofficial mascot. In a true testament to the quote “leave no man behind,” they enlisted him into the 22nd Artillery Transport Company of the 2nd Corps, and even gave him the rank of private meaning he had his own.
