None of these side events were on the official public schedule ā and they came with strict rules from Bidenās office for the elite group of participants: No emails. No Facebook or Twitter posts, before or after. Phone is best, they tell everyone involved. Nothing written at all ā that would complicate security and require approval from the White House.

Then the Bidenās keepersĀ staff says:Ā āThe vice president does not deliver remarks, they are 5- to 10-minute photo lines. We donāt put photo lines on our public guidance in any form, whether itās political or official,ā the vice presidentās office said.
Good gravy, a pic with Joe that canāt be shared?! You canāt hold back love!

Some things are so awesomely enormous that itās difficult to grasp just how big they are until theyāre put into a more relatable perspective. Today, thanks to Belgian amateur astronomer Michel (@quark1972), we get to appreciate the size of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko (aka the rubber ducky comet).
This is the comet that the ESAās Rosetta spacecraft reached on August 6, 2014 after a ten year, five month and four day-long journey nearly 4 million miles into space. The Rosetta will now spend the next two years studying the comet, including the deployment of a lander, the Philae, down to the cometās surface.
Head over to the ESA website to learn lots more about this amazing mission.

how inspiring
It's not trolling if it's true.
Dave Rupert claims he 'trolled' the white house by filing a bug on it's Github. Just because it's the white house doesn't mean they don't deserve some constructive criticism ("Expected result: Government should be working"), and if it's true, it's not exactly trolling, is it?
Just common sense to most of the country:
- America is a melting pot and, like it or not, those are elected officials who represent real people. While you may call people who live in red states āhillbilliesā, I tend to just call them āfamilyā.
It's time for the problem solvers to rule the world! Blowhards, be damned!
- What if political issues were technical issues and seen in terms of feature requests, available resources, lines of code, performance & security concerns, and all centered around agile data-driven decisions? Our decision process could go from āI AM THE LOUDEST MOST IMMUTABLE PERSON HEREā to āShit. We really gotta figure this out.ā
How many times have I watched college leaders roll their eyes because they cannot understand why parents and students would insist that a degree lead to a job rather than simply being enthralled by the privilege of learning from us? How much time do we waste haggling over whether courses should be taught traditionally or online, as though students will tolerate any instruction in the future that does not take advantage of some online component?

And so, referring to the members of Congress, James Madison wrote in Federalist No. 57: "[T]hey can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society." Today, elected officials need to be reminded of these truths. Under pressure from Congress, the White House has carved out a special exemption for Congress and its staffers from ObamaCareāthe law it recently deemed necessary for the entire country. No Republicans voted for ObamaCare. Yet it appears that some of them support the exemption President Obama approved on his ownāso they would not have to go on record with a vote for or against it.

Holy shiznits people. Only Alexander Wang could get away with this kind of mayhem and not get sued by Girl A who got punched by Girl B, and Girl C who got facial lacerations when she was shoved onto the floor and trampled by a horde of crazed fashion fans. Ā Ah-mazing.
This is just insane.

Why āIntuitiveā Interface Is A Myth
We toss around the term āintuitiveā a lot when it comes to user interface. We think of Apple products, and the way they redefined PCs and smartphones through systems that ājust worked.ā
ButĀ Timoni West, a designer at Foursquare, makesĀ an interesting argument. Sometimes, these so-called intuitive gestures are a poor substitute for a clearly explained alternative.
See what Timoni West has to say here.
