Franklin Graham schools Mayor Pete on homosexuality

Samaritanâs Purse chief Franklin Graham on Tuesday rebuked Democrat presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, for the second time in weeks.
The first time was over Buttigiegâs attacks on Vice President Mike Penceâs faith.
This time it was over Buttigiegâs flaunting of his homosexuality.
Graham posted online his comment, after Buttigieg said God doesnât favor one political party or another:
âPresidential candidate and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is right â God doesnât have a political party. But God does have commandments, laws, and standards He gives us to live by. God is God. He doesnât change. His Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever,â Graham wrote.
âMayor Buttigieg says he is a gay Christian and he wants to unite people behind him. Iâm sure there will be many people who will want to follow. But as a Christian I believe what the Bible says. Godâs Word defines homosexuality as sin, something to be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised, or politicized. The Bible defines marriage as between a man and a woman â not two men, not two women.
âMayor Buttigieg also said that to him, âthe core of faith is regard for one another.â We are definitely to support and help each other â no question. But that does not come above believing and being obedient to what God says is truth. Without that foundation, we really canât help anyone in a way that impacts their eternity. The core of the Christian faith is believing and following Jesus Christ, who God sent to be the Savior of the world â to save us from sin, to save us from hell, to save us from eternal damnation.â
His earlier comments about Buttigieg came only weeks ago.
Thatâs when he said Buttigieg doesnât have the authority to redefine sin.
That followed the Indiana mayorâs harsh comments about Penceâs faith-based stance on same-sex marriage.
The 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful, an Episcopalian, targeted Penceâs beliefs in a speech o the LGBTQ Victory Fund.
âThatâs the thing I wish the Mike Pences of the world would understand ⌠if you got a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me â your quarrel, sir, is with my creator,â said Buttigieg.
Graham, also CEO of the Billy Graham Association, reacted via Facebook.
âTo set the record straight, Mr. Mayor,â he wrote, âthe issue isnât whether somebody has a problem with who you are â the issue is that we all have a problem with God because of our sin.
âAnd it applies to every single human being. God loves us, and the Bible says we are all sinners who need Godâs forgiveness, which He offers if we repent and turn from our sin and put our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ,â Graham wrote.
âWe donât define sin, God does in His Word, the Bible. Using new terms like âProgressive Christianityâ and the âChristian Leftâ may sound appealing to some, but Godâs laws and standards do not change. He says, âFor I am the Lord, I change not.â I believe what the Bible says is truth.â
In his speech to the advocacy group, Buttigieg said his marriage to a man made him a âbetter human being.â
âYes, Mr. Vice President,â he said, âit has moved me closer to God.â
CNN reported Pence responded to Buttigiegâs attack with: âHe knows better. He knows me.â
