All of the footage here is of a single oil wheel. One layer is moving liquids one direction, and another in the other, while a mutated version moving through a droplet filter, and tinted coloring creating this asymmetrical kaleidoscope. A fourth layer is added on top with a kaleidoscope filter using small segments. Several areas have been masked so that the work falls into itself.
By mirroring two layers of liquid light wheels at 90 degrees, brian moss has a juxtaposition of images that are bot moving into each other, and falling away, creating trippy psychedelic trails, akin to an LSD trip
brian moss created this kaleidoscope with the footage of 2 of our custom oil wheels. He created 2 layers that criss-cross, which he mirrored at 90 degrees. Reversing the speed of one, he then masked the center so that some of the layers underneath shine through. Another layer is added on top with a kaleidoscope filter giving it the traditional look. All of the colors and bubbles and globs you see are created with various oils, which we spin in front of a projector. As a reminder, all of our kaleidoscopes are published under a nd-sa creative commons, and we have oil wheels for sale if you are an optikinetics or aldis tutor enthusiast

liquid light show footage edited by Kevin McNeill of Mind House Pictures. We are manipulating colored oils & liquids in between plates of glass, which is creating that back & forth effect. He used a difference filter to accentuate the vibrant psychedelic colors
This clip was created by brian moss by overlaying the clips of 3 custom oil wheels, which spin mineral oil & glycerine in front of a projector. Using an “insect eye” filter on one of the layers he was able to create a lot of depth.
A brian moss traditional kelaidoscope made with footage of 2 of our custom made liquid oil wheels. The bubbles are created by mixing mineral oil with isopropyl alcohol and were not created post production.
