Can’t. Saying ‘we can’t’ implied a physical incapability— a material blockade impeding progress. Loki lifted his eyebrows innocently as his body shifted back into its damnable form of Thor’s brother. The very form that represented physical incapability, as though the blood in their veins blocked them from getting too close. Like two magnets of the same polarity.
"Oh, but it does. It has everything to do with the way I look. You ‘can’t’ have me because I’m your brother— is that correct? You give that reason as an answer to a question I didn’t ask. If I were the Lady Sif, could you?"
“It is late, Loki—” He said, not wanting to respond to his brother’s inquiry. Not wanting to acknowlegde the truth behind the words (no matter how twisted they were). “It is late and I am tired, as well as you are. It is better for us to sleep.”
—And never ever talk about that again.
It was not as if he desired his brother in such a way. They were always close, there was no denying on that. But that—- perhaps was a closeness that he never before thought of, never in such a way, not with his brother, blood of his blood.
Loki smirked vaguely and nodded, running his hand along Thor's chest to his shoulder to help push himself up. Of course, Thor could never look him in the eye and answer. Loki was not willing to push the issue, lest he force Thor away from him. That was not his intention.
Instead, he lifted himself and pressed a kiss to his brother's head, running a thumb along his rough jaw.
"Very well, brother. We may sleep instead. I will not force you."
