OUTPUTS THAT I HAD FUN MAKING

Chapter 2 taught me about Intercultural Communication, in which I wrote a paper entitled, Ethnocentrism: Judged by so called "Superiors". Through this paper, I was able to differentiate the barrier that I have witnessed during Senior Highschool. There will always be differences between people living in the city and provinces. Through this activity, I learned that we shouldn't let our differences be a barrier to communicating with one another. To communicate should not cost any shame. We must interact and be fascinated with other cultures and appreciate what they add to our knowledge. 

Communication isn't linear. You listen, you understand, you contribute. You can't voice an opinion when you do not understand. Communication must be conveyed with purpose and appropriate language to avoid spreading misinformation. For this chapter, we were tasked to make a personal slogan which I had a hard time making because I wasn't really in a good position after I learned that I had a low score in a P.E Activity. Despite my bad mood, I still made an output worth passing.

For this lesson, we tackled how to speak persuasively. For me, this topic plays an important role, especially when dealing with businesses or presenting reports at school. I often think that speaking persuasively is a different kind of power when people who have bad intentions know how to do it. But it can do more good than evil or not do anything. It can be done through different platforms, like social media, letters, and even conversations upfront. Since it was by group, I had difficulty reaching out to my groupmates throughout the lesson since I didn't know them. However, over time, I had fun creating catchy phrases with them. We also shared some laughs from time to time.

At first, I found this topic boring. It was still about written documents and how to write business reports. But as I did the activity, it became an inside joke for me. Fun fact! Our internet provider is PLDT, and the letter that I made, was supposedly sent to the PLDT, asking for their deals, and in my perspective, it became an insulting letter. However, I found it funny and imagined if I sent it, how would PLDT react. Also, making the letter was easy since some lessons can be applied to enhance the business letter, such as persuasion in this topic.

One thing that came to my mind when I made this Job application was challenging. Both written and oral. I can't even imagine myself talking with a professional and impressing them with my achievements. I would probably stutter or go off track with the topic. But I realized that this activity is a big help for us students. Not only does it allow us to learn and enhance our skills, but to foresee our future just like what we have written in the paper. Not only that, but submitting the paper was the hardest. It felt like submitting it on an actual job application. Hopefully, I will get the part that I'm applying for.

The activity from Chapter 11 - Social Media Communication is quite sentimental for me. We were tasked to create a vlog or blog discussing a topic from different  general issues . I chose to talk and create a blog about Bullying. I appreciate how a learning activity from Purposive Communication became an avenue for me to express my thoughts about bullying. I am still quite sensitive when it comes to these kinds of topic, but having to share it in an activity enables me to slowly open up. Furthermore, I find this activity fun since it also made me create a theme that would match my blog, and I consider myself to be artistic when it comes to designing anything.
