ā Will you ever forgive me? ā
ā It is completely reasonable for you to turn your back on me forever. It might even be the wisest decision. ā
ā Sometimes, however, I wonder if my problems originate elsewhere. In my won childhood, for example. ā
ā It'll be okay. It'll be alright. ā
ā That won't do. ā
ā One lifetime ago I was crouched in shadow and in the next I am with you. How profound the difference. ā
ā How can I not appreciate your protective instincts? ā
ā Open yourself to me. I will not harm your secrets. ā
ā I am here. Ever devoted. ā
ā You may want to prepare yourself for the worst. ā
ā It's remarkable how much I continue to improve. ā
ā For the first time, I feel normal. ā
ā It's been so long since I've traveled. ā
ā As it is I'm fairly annoyed. ā
ā I've lost all of it. To be honest I don't know where all of it went. ā
ā Do that for me. ā
ā What's the matter, ā
ā Go back to sleep. ā
ā I'm sorry I got so mad. It's not your fault. That thing just scares me. ā
ā Come back to bed. ā
ā I need to find a psychic. Or an exorcist. ā
ā What the hell? ā
ā Who knows what might have been discovered. ā
ā I believe there's a great deal of significance in this discovery. ā
ā While I would like to offer you my own interpretation I am a little high and alot drunk. ā
ā I'm sketching far less these days. ā
ā Recently though I did get this crazy idea: I decided to go out on a limb. ā
ā I don't know what I expected. ā
ā Now look who's the dumb mutant. ā
ā I felt like such an idiot. ā
ā I should of stayed away from such flights of fancy, stuck to my regular made-up stories. ā
ā Call me sometime, ā
ā You're cute. ā
ā I feel dead. ā
ā I need to get away. ā
I stand by the notion that Vincent/Voxās celebrity crush is John Wayne. Even in life Vincent was enamored by him and found him attractive. If he asked him to star on a Western with him he wouldāve said yes before he finished his sentence. Loser.

@sharedpast i'm not sure i could really trust anyone who wasn't tempted by an oreo for breakfast, on occasion. (from emmy, to cherri!)
All the days Cherri spent with Emmy were good days in her book. Whether or not both of them would be in the Doomsday District or walking around the Pentagram at their leisure, which they were doing right now, didn't change that. Emmy always brought something different to the table that otherwise made her afterlife quite boring. Emmy was the opposite of boring. Not only did she have the body and the moxie to keep thugs and others away from her, she had quite the charming character. Cherri always found herself surprised at whatever new thing Emmy brought up, even if she felt like she'd known her for forever. That was the same for what Emmy had told out, out of the blue. Cherri turned her head completely towards her, eye blinking, then squinting. Her lips weren't fully in a frown, but the rest of Cherri's expression spoke the astonishment for her. Her lips curled into a half-smile, and then she snorted. Cherri continued snickering before she shook her head, now giving a complete grin.
"What? I mean, girl I--" Cherri snickered again, shaking her head. "Where do you come up with this stuff, Emmy? Did we walk by some sorta Oreo sign that I was too distracted to pay any attention to? Or maybe I'm just so used to 'em that it didn't stand out to me." Cherri wouldn't consider Emmy being overly unfamiliar with Oreos, but the thing about Hell was that it pulled people from all kinds of different places, all kinds of different times. Emmy could've been from the 1800s and Cherri wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Though, she at least assumes she wouldn't be looking like that if she was. But Cherri doesn't see Emmy as any sort of posh lady either. "I gotta say that I agree with you, though. Who's gonna turn down a quick bit of sugar in the morning? Not even the old hags stinkin' up the place would say no. I mean, have you seen how much sugar them bitches are puttin' in their coffee n' shit? So-called Boston Tea Party in every one of their drinks." Cherri tapped her chin with her index finger. "Don't coffee places got things like Oreo-flavored donuts, or just Oreo-flavored anythin'? Yeah, don't think I could trust somebody willin' to turn it down for no reason." The hand lowered to hook at her hip. Then her stomach growled, and Cherri hiccuped. "Damn you, Emmy! Now you gotta get me a pack of 'em!"

have you ever sat with someone as they died? (from anton to vincent!)
The feeling in the air shifted very drastically, very quickly. That was a hard thing to do, considering Herzen Castle seemed more confined that Alcatraz. As someone who hadn't been to Alcatraz (but had seen genuine images of it!), that seemed impossible, yet it still felt hard to breathe. Surely he mustn't have noticed it before Anton's smooth, gentle threat to his life escaped from his lips. Even if that wasn't the duke's intention, whatever else it could mean made the put in his stomach fall deeper. He didn't really want to know whatever this vampire meant at all, in that case. But it had to jut be a threat. It had to be. Someone living in a town so remote would have no idea. He didn't even know who he was before he showed up at Herzen Castle to investigate the rumored vampire. Why was he so worried about it, then? Why did the hand holding his wine glass tighten ever-so slightly? Why did his green eye twitch as he maintained a forced grin? This wasn't the first time Vincent Whittman had received a death threat, but this was the first one where it was worded so brilliantly that it meant something. Alas, all Anton meant to do was get under his skin. He didn't know, and he was an idiot for now showing signs that he could know something!
"What a silly thing to ask, Duke Herzen! I'm too young to have lost anybody, and I'm too old to be there when someone out of my circle dies. As sad as death is, time doesn't stop. The cameras keep rolling. And, hey, whoever passed would've wanted me to keep on stage! Maybe my broadcast will reach them in Heaven. They'll know they're loved then if I haven't made it clear enough already!" It was all performative. Believe in Heaven all he wished, he wasn't going to go out of his way to make some special shout-out on live television for someone who wasn't significant and worthy of it. It would waste valuable screen-time that would better be spent on him! "That line of questioning still keeps me on my toes, I must admit." Vincent placed the wine glass on the table and forced his hands in his lap, no longer visible to Anton's eye. They pulled at all of their fingers, hard. "Have something on your mind that must've inspired such a statement, Duke Herzen? Something you wish to be more direct about?"

on occasion, i write my own obituary. (from catti, to octavia!)
Unfortunately, that wasn't the worst conversation starter they've ever heard. Octavia wouldn't really consider it up there, either. It was mostly something random with some grim undertones that they experienced every day of their life anyways. At least Catti didn't mention something about cheating, or parents, or cheating parents. At this point in their life, they wouldn't be able to write an obituary in good faith. They weren't even completely sure if they could die by normal means. Angelic weapons, sure, but nothing compared to things Catti could become susceptible to. She could see them freeze up on their spot on the floor of her bedroom. The phone in their hand almost fell out of their hands, but they put it down on the ground quickly. Catti could see that they had their music app on. They didn't think to turn off their phone to turn their full body towards Catti. There was a strange look on their face, but how couldn't there be? Catti was one of their, yes, friends, they think. They worried about her well-being. Was something going on that they weren't aware of? Maybe. Octavia didn't want there to be, but it wasn't their choice in the chance that there was.
"Is that so?" Octavia began, hesitant in their words, their delivery. They let out a singular nervous, sheepish chuckle. Their hand went to rub up and down their arm. "Uhh, don't take this the wrong way girl, but... why? There's not really much of a point to do that. Once you die, you're not gonna be concerned with anything going on here. You'll know who you're all leaving behind, who can't come with you to... probably Hell, just yet." Octavia was going to say Heaven at first, but something crossed their mind. While the Goetia fully believed that Catti deserved to go to Heaven, she had been dealing and playing with things that would otherwise be considered satanic. That alone could be enough to give her an eternal sentence to the underworld. What they were thinking but, obviously wouldn't say, was that at least they'd be together when she did die. Maybe they've been able to get out of their shitty situation and, for the lack of better terms, have grown up when that happens. Hopefully. The fact this was brought up at all still has them worried. "Hey," the Goetia began, inching closer to Catti, "is there any reason why you go that route? An obituary is kinda specific, you know."
And the ongoing streak of bad luck continues, to no surprise. It's only natural that none other than the youngest overlord herself would walk in while they're in the middle of chugging from one of those crystal bottles.
⦠Well. If they're already caught in the act, they might as well finish the rest off, at least. Descole tips the bottle up the rest of the way.
Her threat is surprisingly unimpressive, considering her status. Did she really think everyone in this miserable little city cared about the opinions of others the way she did? Perhaps it was to be expected from an overlord of social mediaābut as far as Descole has seen, nearly everyone in this hellhole is scum, barely even worth the taste of their blade. They certainly wouldn't dispute that they belong hereāmurder and mass endangerment were a hard sell to heavenābut as far as they're concerned, their own opinion is the only one that matters.
Descole pulls the bottle from their lips enough to be able to speak.
"⦠Tell me, can you write without speaking aloud as you do so, or did you never progress past primary?" they drawl. "My goodness. I'd heard modern day youth were in a sorry state, but I didn't realize it had gotten so bad."
The fashionista readied her current stance in case Descole wanted to attempt anything funny. Said funny thing would be them trying to throw the bottle at her. That wouldn't have been any fun; they would've been dead following the attempt. A dead ghost doesn't exactly make for good media, since there's nothing there for real. And then she would've strained herself all for nothing! Well, Velvette wasn't a strain herself for nothing kind of lady. That was for the rest of her puppets, who would be all over this post online once she sends it. Descole didn't throw the bottle. In fact, the Sinner did worse by actively mocking her. Mocking her? Velvette? What a joke. She didn't need to see who they were in order to kick their ass if she decided to go that route for that comment alone. She should've, and maybe she could push them out of the window. It wasn't like her and the rest of the Vees didn't have the money to fix it! And, really, it would be a more tame death than whatever Val got up to every week. Hopefully the fall and colliding into the ground would be enough to crumple them and not the bullets of a gun. Velvette fake laughed. It was slow, coordinated, and very aggravated. She rose her phone back up and pressed the record button. Whether or not she posted this didn't matter to her, though she was more than likely going to anyways.
"Aww, sorry, did the voice of a youngin grate at your ears? I spelt it out to you 'cause grandparents like you don't have half the mind to use social media. I was letting you know what I was framing you as, fuckin' fossil." The fashionista could get enough from Des's voice alone that they were older when they died. Their words only seemed to confirm as much. Maybe it wasn't good news for Velvette, but she, quite honestly, didn't give a shit! "You're running out of seconds, by the way. Why are you here?!"
@hellful continued from here.
Asmodeus wasn't the type to deny a cute thing talking about themself when given the opportunity to. It was always sweet to hear whatever it was someone had to say, especially when they looked as gorgeous as Royal did. They seemed to serve quite a place here in the casino, and why wouldn't they? From where he was concerned, Royal was the head dealer here. If they weren't, then they wouldn't have even considered talking about themself as much as they had. But even they had gone a little too far. Asmodeus threw them a bone for sure, and while he didn't mind their words (their voice especially), it was becoming a bit forward. They acted as though they were a leader, but they knew next to nothing about leadership. Did it do him any good to get an ego boost from someone he shouldn't even entertain? Well, maybe to have some eye candy and a serenade with every sentence spoken, but that was all. For now.
"Spare me the formalities now, why don't ya? You seemed to have done so enough a moment ago. There's no stopping the train that's full-steam ahead, mm?" There was a slight vexation in his tone, his arms crossing his chest and one of his legs going over and resting on the other. It waved in a slow, rhythmic manner that seemed almost hypnotic if one were to look for too long. Not that he'd blame anyone for that. "I suppose its no one's fault but mine in expecting anything different from the Pride Ring." Asmodeus hardly made his way so far up, especially with a lot of the local Sinners being... less than pleasant, to say the least. Yes, they'd been damned for a reason, but they seemed to, aha, pride themselves in becoming even worse than who they were. Well, whatever. It benefits him, whether he likes the modes in doing so or not. "Have the game ready for me, treasure," the Sin responded in a more refined manner, yet he whisked his hand in the air anyways.

you sound like a hallmark card.
no one likes golf. even golfers don't like it.
i'm not sure who i was trying to impress.
i worry i'm boring you.
we can change. maybe it's just a bit, but that little bit is everything.
i'm sorry. i should have said something.
i didn't expect to like you.
you should come out with a line of sad greeting cards.
i want to be forgiven.
sometimes i hear my own voice and i hate it.
you think i'm better than i am.
i'll shut up. just know i'd be lost without you.
it's your birthday. you're the king.
i've heard about you, but i've never met you.
i wanted to shoot the dude, but who is that helping?
how many days to you experience something for the first time?
there's no small talk among friends. ask.
we hold the past in our body. it never forgets, but it can learn to let it go.
what are you still doing here? go home.
except for you almost dying, i had a lovely evening.
you're a moron. that's what i love about you.
it's remarkable what you can do, when you don't care what anyone thinks anymore.
i thought maybe i could help.

i believed in santa until i was twelve.
i'm not sure if i believed in _____, or if i wanted to believe so much that i convinced myself.
you saved me. you did.
if this were the last time you were ever going to see me, what would you say?
i like your face.
would you come to my funeral?
if this were a movie, it would be foreshadowing.
if this were a buddy movie, i'd put my arm around your shoulders.
there's so much about you i don't like. where do i even start?

oh,Ā soĀ nowĀ youĀ care?
don'tĀ flatterĀ yourself.Ā youĀ wereĀ justĀ convenient.
youĀ crossedĀ aĀ line.
weĀ hadĀ betsĀ onĀ howĀ longĀ itĀ wouldĀ last.
it'sĀ notĀ evenĀ aĀ secretĀ anymore.
youĀ don'tĀ getĀ toĀ cryĀ aboutĀ itĀ now.
touchĀ meĀ againĀ andĀ seeĀ whatĀ happens.
sayĀ itĀ again.Ā louderĀ thisĀ time.
youĀ reallyĀ thoughtĀ nobodyĀ wouldĀ findĀ out?
don'tĀ actĀ soĀ innocent.
okay,Ā butĀ amĀ iĀ theĀ villainĀ forĀ laughing?
tellĀ meĀ whoĀ elseĀ knows.Ā rightĀ now.
thisĀ wholeĀ time,Ā andĀ youĀ didn'tĀ sayĀ aĀ word?
don'tĀ actĀ braveĀ now.
you'reĀ reallyĀ gonnaĀ doĀ thisĀ here?
itĀ wasn'tĀ supposedĀ toĀ getĀ thisĀ far!
youĀ can'tĀ rewriteĀ history.
oh,Ā i'dĀ neverĀ sayĀ itĀ toĀ theirĀ faces.
itĀ wasĀ supposedĀ toĀ stayĀ betweenĀ us.
we'reĀ allĀ thinkingĀ it,Ā iĀ justĀ saidĀ it.
you'reĀ notĀ asĀ untouchableĀ asĀ youĀ act.
doĀ youĀ evenĀ feelĀ guilty?
theyĀ warnedĀ meĀ aboutĀ you.
goĀ ahead,Ā makeĀ itĀ worse.
ifĀ youĀ repeatĀ this,Ā i'llĀ denyĀ everything.
theĀ nextĀ thingĀ outĀ ofĀ yourĀ mouthĀ betterĀ beĀ anĀ apology.
you'reĀ aboutĀ threeĀ secondsĀ awayĀ fromĀ regrettingĀ this.
youĀ keepĀ pushing,Ā andĀ i'llĀ pushĀ youĀ back.
they'reĀ goingĀ toĀ findĀ out.
oneĀ moreĀ lie,Ā andĀ iĀ walk.
they'reĀ lyingĀ toĀ you.
youĀ needĀ toĀ backĀ off.Ā now.
you'reĀ defendingĀ them?Ā afterĀ everything?
don'tĀ tryĀ toĀ hideĀ it.
tellĀ me,Ā wasĀ iĀ justĀ aĀ placeholder?
youĀ reallyĀ thinkĀ sorryĀ fixesĀ this?
there'sĀ nothingĀ leftĀ toĀ say.
don'tĀ actĀ likeĀ you'reĀ theĀ oneĀ hurting.
iĀ don'tĀ oweĀ youĀ anyĀ explanation.
whateverĀ helpsĀ youĀ sleepĀ atĀ night.
youĀ should'veĀ seenĀ thisĀ coming.
iĀ hopeĀ itĀ wasĀ worthĀ it.
iĀ toldĀ theĀ truth.Ā justĀ notĀ allĀ ofĀ it.
you'llĀ missĀ meĀ beforeĀ iĀ missĀ you.
smile.Ā you'reĀ ruiningĀ theĀ mood.
i'dĀ watchĀ thatĀ toneĀ ifĀ iĀ wereĀ you.
it'sĀ notĀ myĀ faultĀ youĀ believedĀ me.
youĀ haveĀ suchĀ aĀ talentĀ forĀ pretendingĀ you'reĀ innocent.
weĀ bothĀ knowĀ thisĀ isĀ over.
iĀ neverĀ saidĀ iĀ wasĀ aĀ goodĀ person.
iĀ thoughtĀ youĀ wereĀ different.
