PALS, I need your help.
I was in Forever 21 today and my magnet would not get this tag off. It’s obviously not a gator or hook tag, so I’m guessing my magnet isn’t strong enough. I’ve never once had a problem getting a tag off (I have this magnet). And I couldn’t get any of the tags off that looked like this, so it isn’t just stuck or something.
Luckily the alarms go off once every 5 seconds at this store and no one bats an eyelash, so I felt okay walking out with the tag still on. The alarm didn’t go off when I walked through, though.
So anyway, any input appreciated:
Do I need to get a stronger magnet if I want to get these tags off?
Do these tags not trigger alarms, or was I just lucky the alarm didn’t go off when I walked through with it?
How do I get this off now? Should I freeze it and try to force it off? I have some fairly heavy duty crafting wire cutters, will they cut through the pin?
Okay that last Ulta haul that totaled $337, it’s still blowing my mind that such a small amount of stuff costs that much money. Back when I worked full time at Starbucks (I’ve posted about that on here I believe), $337 was more than I made in a week. 40 hours of work couldn’t buy me what’s in that picture.

I was planning to conceal maybe half of this in the blind spot, then ditch the tote and bail. But literally no SA even looked at me or the other 3 customers the whole time I was there (this was around 7:00, Monday night)... so fuck it, I took the whole thing.

Aw I'm so bummed. My mom just texted me asking if we can go shopping tomorrow for a job interview she has next week. But she said, "We'll have to find something super cheap since I don't have much money." And I'm just like 😕🙁☹️ MA, PLEASE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR CLOTHES. LIKE, EVER. I'd love to lift some clothes for her but a) I don't know what size she is, b) she's really picky, and c) she knows I'm a poor college kid and wouldn't let me "pay" for anything for her. Ugh.

FELLOW COLLEGE LIFTERS:
Anyone have experience lifting textbooks/any type of book from ur college bookstore? mine seems so easy, has maybe 2 cameras but of course has towers. Today kids kept beeping while leaving the store after buying books and i checked the books and i can’t find a single tag?! wtf sets those towers off? i’m not tryna pay $1000 for textbooks imma use 1 semester but i also ain’t tryna get caught and expelled.
I’ve only lifted one textbook from my school’s bookstore but I was so paranoid. I walked in holding a binder like I was stopping by on my way to class or something. I put the textbook I needed on top of the binder and then wandered around a little more, then casually put the binder and book in my messenger bag like I was tired of carrying it. It made me really nervous because even if I didn’t get caught at the time, it wouldn’t be hard to find me (my school’s fairly small). I also didn’t have $210 to drop on a fucking book I literally needed. I've never seen any of my textbooks tagged.
My plan for this upcoming semester is to lift the textbooks I need from another university’s bookstore. I feel like it’s much less risky - there isn’t a student photo of my face in their system, and I can’t get expelled from a university I don’t go to.

DSW Pink flats - $50 Black flats - $50 - $100
So I’ve never really lifted shoes before. Mostly because I really don’t like on floor concealing, unless it’s someplace like Michael’s with glaring blindspots and employees who don’t acknowledge you. But I went to a DSW today that I’d never been to before, and they had a huge blindspot so I went for it. I took like 5 boxes to the blind aisle and tried them all on, then put these two pairs of flats in my bag and put all the boxes back. I put the empty boxes near the bottom so hopefully they aren’t found for awhile.
These are super cute!
Better suggestion for next time: Grab a random shoe or two from other boxes that are nowhere near the empty boxes, but similar styles, e.g. flats into flats boxes, heels into heels, even if you’re putting a chunky low heel into high af stiletto boxes, and pop em in there. An empty box s far more sus than a box that’s missing one shoe, as sometimes they’ll take one shoe out of a box as a display :)

GUYS I REALLY WANT A PATAGONIA OR NORTHFACE PUFFY!! Please if you know any tips at REI or similar places or have seen a blog haul with a puffy jacket, let me know!!
REI is hit or miss in my experience. There’s one near me that’s lax af, but the other ones near me I don’t bother with because the employees are too attentive and their fitting rooms are locked. So scope yours out.
The one I go to has unlocked fitting rooms and the employees aren’t overly attentive. But they are supposed to ask customers if they need any help (I know someone who used to work there), so don’t worry too much if that happens once or twice. I’ve gotten a couple jackets there. I just get like 5-6 jackets all in the same color, and a double of the one I want. Then I take them to the fitting room, untag the one I want, and put it in my bag. I have a medium sized structured purse that zips closed at the top which works really well for bigger jackets and such. I’ve never had a problem there.
Pretty much everything is tagged so you’ll need a magnet. Some of the more expensive jackets have 3-Alarm tags and I won’t go near those. I actually think Dick’s is easier for jackets and bigger stuff. Same process, but the employees care far less in my experience. Like I usually have to hunt around to find one to unlock the fitting room for me, and they never even look at what I’m bringing in.

Also, PSA about Ralph Lauren: they have RFIDs in their paper tags. I have a pair of mini office scissors that I keep in my bag to cut through them. The only other paper tag RFIDs I've seen are at Lululemon but always remember to check anyway.

I went to a different Michael’s for Instax film (they were also out 😒) but they had cameras out! So pumped I finally got one.
I went to Michael’s to get Instax film but they were out. On the upside they had a ton of adorable fake succulent plants. This is very conducive to my lifestyle, seeing as I love the plant aesthetic but am too irresponsible to take care of living plants.
