Above is a prototype of a prototype. Blurred to anonymize anything that could be associated with anything.. or anyone. Testing out this simple co-creation method to use in the field.

Participants will start by 'card sorting' content blocks, prioritizing the type of content they want, while talking us through their different needs.

The last part of the activity focuses on adding features and detail to the content blocks. Provided with baseline features & content as a jumping off point, the participant is encouraged to be creative.

Group synthesis! We printed out individual data points from many different sources pertaining to Big Data, and then as a group, silently affinitized. Once we clustered our own data points, we came together as a group to find overlaps & discrepancies and further synthesize.

A couple photos from yesterdays Steelcase executive workshop I helped facilitate. Steelcase brought three potential service themes for us to help them develop around their existing product offerings. Prototyping tools included: role playing, desktop walk-throughs, and customer journey mapping.

Combing through an old process map to distinguish where big data solutions may be effective.

Using a process map or a blueprint as a launchpad for analysis is a wonderful way of utilizing the tool. Lindsay and I took a quarter long break between making this process map for the Savannah Food Co-op and now; we have a new perspective on the business process now.

Lesson: service design is about zooming in and zooming out. Zoom in on specific service encounters and out in order to view the system as a whole. Tools can be reused and repurposed!

Using an old process map to identify how & where Big Data can facilitate a better service. We took these points of interest and generated questions to explore ways it could optimize existing processes.
