Look, the Haunting of Bly Manor gave us so much in so little time. It’s only 9 episodes but we got a great example of the damage of compulsive heteronormativity, some mutual pining, gay panic from Dani that made me laugh, the support of Hannah and Owen, possession and love are opposities, a heartbreaking story about sacrifice and bravery, patience/taking it one day at a time, beautiful scenes of what building a life with someone can be (especially since it is queer and we don’t offen get to see that part of the story), and about how to grieve and yet still keep someone alive. And the reminder that dead doesn’t mean gone, especially the validation of Dani’s hand at the end. And I left out so many things here, but the layers of this story telling are just amazing and I feel like I will always find something new here.
