so I decided to mainly focus on the comment section of each song and lo and behold it ends up that the song that's been used by people in similar circumstances is 'Haunted' by Poe. honestly I'm not sure if 'similar circumstances' is just all those other 'Minecraft ARGs' or if it also includes Alan Wake and Blair Witch Project 2. who knows
... I ended up listening to the whole thing. it's a nice song. I wasn't expecting it to resonate with me so well

'haunted by a familiar melody' 1-5 1:48
the bottom one could be anything but the fact that the word 'melody' is in the sign makes me think it's a timestamp. for what I'm not really sure yet. I'm assuming whatever 1-5 means would be the answer to that
okay so here's my thought process right now:
there are 5 words on the sign. 1 of them is relevant to the puzzle assuming 'melody' is a hint I'm counting that out the two remaining words might be the title of a song or something (or at least I'm hoping it's a song because I don't want to deal with trying to find movies)
problem now is that there are apparently 10 million songs with the title of 'haunted' or 'familiar'. which is worse odds than the fucking DTBMH thing
I think I'm gonna ask Union for a hint or something

that was the most boring user manual-ass book on research methodologies that I've ever read in my entire life. I was honestly rushing to get through it just so I could work out that puzzle instead

the top line is obviously a set of coordinates so I think I'm gonna go find where they lead to and then post an update

got super busy this morning gonna try and finish the puzzle thing real quick

ooooooooookay so given the fact that my brain did not get super fried from work today I decided to install OBS and figure out how to get things set up. and then I saw a book and quill in my hotbar that I did not have before
I don't know how the fuck 'plainest possible terms' means math notation but okay whatever
I'm gonna make a video giving a rundown of what's been going on but in the meantime if anyone can make heads or tails of this that'd be great
Reddit update: u/KittenPowerLord said that the book is saying 'our nature' is a 'union' between A B C that contains negative infinity + i (probably the imaginary unit) + 0 + positive infinity. that doesn't really say much but I was thinking that using 't' instead of 'x' is a bit weird. it doesn't matter too much but 't' might have something to do with 'time'. and when you try to apply that to the values you get A = past B = present C = future
maybe I should draw a diagram for this
