He fell in love with the way she fell in love with everything. The stars, the crisp autumn breeze, the exciting promises of tomorrow. She fell in love with the way he slept, with his closed eyes indicating he was off in foreign lands, she fell in love with the way he tucked his hands in his pockets when he felt shy and the way his eyes lit up when he spoke about her. She fell in love with the way he laughed loudly when she cracked one of her lame jokes and she fell in love with the way people fall in love with very good poetry. Slowly, before it floods your soul. Slowly before it drowns you and your entire being, your entire existence. And finally she fell in love with him the way she fell in love with herself, slowly and very surely. She was the star studded sky to his polluted one. She was his soul to his beating heart. His mountain to the snow. They could exist without each other, for they were two separate components, but when they came together, it felt like an explosion of magic. With sparks and quickened heartbeats. Fate would try it’s best to keep them away, but frankly I don’t think it can. For whatever’s meant to be, simply is.

But I am physically lonely; and intellectually I go elsewhere.
