in situations like this, it becomes clear that she’s built different. her work ethic, her mentality, she’s a perfectionist. and she’s been one since the age of seven, after losing out on the lead role in the spring ballet recital. with the sudden realization that those closest to perfection got recognition, she’s striven for it ever since. not only professionally, but in all aspects of her life.
her daily routine consisted of practicing. practicing positions, her posture, turns, hand placement, she practiced until she became as close to perfect as she could get. receiving nothing but high praises, she’d land every female lead role up until the moment her family left for korea.
as a trainee, nothing changed. while others left after being dismissed, she remained in the practice room for hours more. even as a member of paragon, that habit didn’t die. often coming back to the dorm to find her members waking up for breakfast, while she was heading to bed. while attending college, she didn’t sleep. not until every assignment was complete. earning perfect scores, she became valedictorian of her graduating class.
so, she doesn’t understand being “tired,” or “exhausted.” it’s just an excuse to her, because one can sleep after they’re done. it was close to midnight, not late at all by her standards and she has a few more hours left in her until they get it right.
left palm at her face, wiping the sweat from her forehead which moves the dripping strands of hair from her vision. her gaze, full of intensity, as she studies the male’s moves. sloppy. she knows his moves are not up to par with hers, but she does expect more from him. so there’s a sigh that leaves her lips and before she can stop herself, the words leave her in annoyance.
“if you’re gonna half-ass it then you should just go home.”
