Honestly, I’m not sure if my explanation is going to be very thorough as my knowledge on Jin/Jinn/Djinn is only limited on what the manga has revealed so far. There might be more info on this on Vol. 10.5? But I have very limited Japanese and don’t know what it says even if I read it. ^^;
Anyway, Jin/Jinn/Djinn is like a vampire’s essence. All vampires - Servamps and Subclasses alike - have this inside their body. If a vampire is to die or be seriously injured, the Jin/Jinn/Djinn will escape from their body and the vampire will just disappear into thin air.
The escaped Jin/Jinn/Djin has the following effects:
- in small quantity, it will just float about around people harmlessly. It’s around 1-3 cm in size and might grow if they combine with each other. This is not proven, but it looks pretty frail to be squashed by hand (by those who can see and destroy them, that is).
- in medium/slightly large quantity, it will gather and attach itself to humans. It will then manipulate the humans and bring them to the nearest vampire (it cannot differentiate between Servamps and Subclasses), offering themselves as food to said vampire. However, they can be destroyed by an Eve’s Lead (a vampire’s Lead won’t be able to do so).
- in large quantity, it can gather around the atmosphere and block the sunlight; creating makeshift winter and even snow. If left alone, the world will be in perpetual cold darkness.
The reason why it was snowing in summer in Chapter 40 was because of Tsubaki seriously-injuring Lily, Hugh, and Hyde and making them cough out large quantity of Jin/Jinn/Djinn (I think none of these are revealed in the anime yet).
If the vampires whose Jin/Jinn/Djinn escaped didn’t die from the injury, they will recover but not able to use their Lead. They will also have some changes in their behaviors/personalities. In the case of Servamps, the Eves will not be able to use their Lead as well since the source of the power is the vampires.

That’s a good question! :D Misono did mention that Lily could still use his illusion even when he and Misono couldn’t attack using his Lead (Chapter 32). Maybe if the Lead is not offensive in nature and the Servamp has illusion-based ability like Lily and Tsubaki, it can still be done?
Furthermore, the manga also didn’t mention if the degree of injury affects the ability to use the Lead, so we might take itinto consideration as well? It sure is interesting to discuss. ^^
The OVA is amazing! I laughed so much at this scene :)) Poor Tsubaki, I really feel sorry for him and how mean…no, savage, would be more appropriate to describe Sakuya’s attitude towards Tsubakyun.

I'll try to explain some of the stuff in your post.
About that page with Tsurugi and Mikuni, someone else asked me about it before, showing me the official translation and what I can say is different in Japanese, is that Tsurugi doesn't say "my world", he says "in this world where I exist/live".
Chapter 87 was quite a few years ago, I recall that I found his line a bit odd and maybe I didn't convey it so good, but when I was asked about it, I wanted to upload on Mangadex the modified lines, however, I couldn't for a long time.
Mangadex was hacked some time ago and after it was made available again, I requested to the mods of the site to take over the group that others have made under my username and uploaded chapters that I usually posted here before joining Mangadex.
I tried a few times to uploaded the pages with the edited lines, but they never updated, even though I was told that I should have been able to and for a while I haven't tried uploading, but since you brought it up @nurul-cerise I was like "Oh yeah, let's see if it works now", and it did!
To recap, the way that Tsurugi's line translates, because it uses 生きていく it means "to keep (on) living", but it can also be "to live", so it doesn't have to necessarily be written with "-ing", take for example
私たちは一緒に生きていく (We are going to live together) or "We are going to be living together.
This grammar part ていく denotes gradual processes over time. I hope that the way I've written the line is better. The way Sevean Seas translated, the JPN line should have been written like this:
キミはオレの世界に生きている。
The actual line in Japanese:
キミは生きていくオレがいるこの世界でね。
Regarding these page, reading it again, I think Iori was implying that he might not want Tsubaki to be killed, he even corrects himself. At first he says "monster", but then calls him "man".
In chapter 88, I edited these pages, hopefully they are better now. Instead of using "trump card", when I translated back then, I used "ace up one's sleeve" and I still think I conveyed what Tsubaki was saying, that "the secret weapon" as Seven Seas put it, would be useless if it's destroyed or if the user is unable to use it.
Regarding Guildenstern, like, I don't know why they never wrote it as Guil when that's the way it's written (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern).
GIL should have been used for Gilberto but they fucked up his name and made it Jillbert.
I talked about Shura when I posted that chapter.
I didn't know about the change here. I translate based on the magazine version and apparently in the volume version, Mahiru does say that. ("Why is he talking about the Servamp's rules?")
Oh and apparently this page wasn't uploaded ;; It has been added to Mangadex!
So yeah, I might have made mistakes, in translating or perhaps not uploading pages.

When I googled the phrase on the first page 思うゆえに、思うがままに what came up in the search results was the phrase "Cogito ergo sum" (I think therefore I am)
But, apparently this is how it's written
我思う、ゆえに我あり
Although the search results showed that translation, the meaning on the page is different, so I translated accordingly.
pg 15.
I had a tough time with one of Sakuya's lines because it trails off and it's vague as to what he might have been saying. His last line in Japanese says オレがオレ達のほうが...
Because there is no verb, it's vague as to what he was implying, he only says "I" then he says "us", referring to the others in team Melancholy.

It was a lot to translate, given how this chapter had 3 backstories…
Fun fact about the title of this chapter. When it was announced on the official Twitter account, it said to look forward to the title in the magazine. It's written on the 31st page but there was no way to keep it a secret because I need to write a title on Mangadex.
Translation notes:
-Regarding Otogiri, it's cute how apparently she called her brother "Hansel" and Johann probably called her "Gretel."
-I want to point out that in Belkia's part, I've found it weird that the co-worker who was talking to him said that the bastard who killed Belkia, got "engaged" with the director's daughter.
Later when then the bastard accuses Belkia of killing the woman, he says that he married her…So, it's either that time passed when they brought in the injured woman or that co-worker talking to Belkia was supposd to say "married" 結婚 not "engaged"婚約.
I wanted you to know that it wasn't a mistranslation.
Pg 31-This is why I even added a page on Mangadex to readers where I mention that they should at least read the note I made at the end of the chapter.
I didn't want to make a TL note on the page because it didn't look nice…
So, there are two readings for Tsubaki's line.
暴力 「ぼく」 だけがきみを裏切らない
The furigana reading says "boku" (I) and the other one says "violence", so based on that, the sentence can be translaed as "Violence is the only thing that won't betray you"
This chapter was pretty big, huh? Let me know what you thought about it!
The title of the chapter in Japanese is 瓦落苦多 (garakuta) which means junk or something without value and it can also be applied to people. The word is also used by Tsubaki and I chose translation that would be fitting for the broken sword that he used while the title of the chapter might refer to him.
Pages 17-18.
First of all, I believe the setting is based on Kenji Miyazawa's Night on the Galactic Railroad.
The way that Tanaka-sensei wrote some of the words in these pages…I'm not sure if I can explain properly but I will try.
The words Tsubaki says, such as 'train' 'ticket, 'conductor' are emphasized but not in the usual manner.
As you can see, on the right side of the kanji, instead of the usual side dots 傍点 (bouten) which are used for emphasis, Tanaka-sensei used squares and as far as I know, those are not punctuation marks and I think sensei wanted to strongly emphasize the words that Tsubaki said.
If you thought his line sounded weird on page 18 where he says, 'That’s right, at some point, I also came to know the word “I”, it's because although it's a direct translation, the way a word is written provides a clue to the nuance behind it.
A reminder that Tsubaki has mainly used the pronoun 僕 (boku) however he has also used 私 (watashi) as seen in the previous chapter.
I noted that he used watashi when he was talking with his little sister and Germaine. When Tsubaki was narrating, he was using boku and only written in hiragana ぼく.
Boku is now written in kanji 僕. It's not like he mentioned something new, thus my only theory is that the change from hiragana to kanji reflects the change he went trough.
Boku was written using hiragana when he was human and after becoming a vampire, the word is written with kanji.
Man, Tanaka-sensei is awesome for using such a technique. Unfortunately, a detail like that can be lost in translation ;;
Tsubaki mentions the word sensei which is also emphasized now using the squares on the side. Why is that?
I think it's because he perceived him differently after finding out that Germaine wasn't an ordinary human.
Page 24
Tsubaki's last sentence on this page has two readings. The furigana reads 'end of the world' while the other one says 'cleanup' .
Page 27
What Tsubaki says here seems to be related to the idiomatic expression 元の鞘に収まる which literally means 'to return to the original sheath'. It describes situations where something or someone returns to its original state, place, or relationship after a period of separation or conflict.
Ty for all your work in translating Servamp stuff and feeding our poor starving hearts! Also related to your recent posts about Gear and Youtarou, this is just a random theory but could it be possible that Gear and Kuro are distantly related? They have similar facial features (droopy eyes and eyebrow shape) and also an affinity for gaming. Kuro's hundreds of years old so he could be like Gear's distant relative. Might be an interesting way to introduce Gear into the main story! And also (cont.)
You’re not the only who thinks that Gear might be related somehow to Kuro, and perhaps even Tsubaki, because that was the first that I noticed when he got revealed, by how much he looks like him.It is not stated, but I, and also a few other fans both in our fandom and the Japanese one, believe that Gear might just be sensei, based on the fact that he has a photo of Kuro from a very long time ago, appearing dressed as he was during the time he killed sensei, and if it turns out to be true, I have thought before that sensei was not killed after all (I don’t want to spoil much until I get this chapter translated). We know that sensei was looking into ways of searching for immortality and he eventually made vampires, but perhaps he also used the methods he came up with upon himself to have a longer life, but still different from the vampire’s makeup and Tsubaki probably comes close to be similar like Sensei, because he doesn’t share the same qualities as the others.I know there have been theories about Sensei being Kuro’s father, and Kuro being his first successful experiment and a lot believed this mostly due to the anime because they made sensei look like Kuro, but we shouldn’t trust too much from it, in the manga we only saw a silhouette of him.If later on is revealed that Gear could be sensei and Tsubaki has a connection with him because of their appearance, who knows they could be father and son (if Sensei found ways to keep himself immortal, he surely found ways to keep himself young too), or brothers or something, and this can also include Kuro, because Gear has some similarities in his mannerism that we see in Kuro.

I finished this comic from Sleepy Life of Servamp which I actually started on a while back, but I had to leave it aside for some time because the monthly chapters were the ones that took the most time to work on.
