Lil Roo

Patton finds out when Ro comes home after an adventure, and he regresses. He feels really bad for knowing that Roman was a little. Even worse when Ro told him to “go ‘way. Pat no love Ro.” Though, part of him is angry at Roman. He was just being a huge hypocrite, and that’s unfair for Virgil!!! But talking about that can wait until Roman isn’t regressed. For now, he’s just gotta convince his kiddo that he DOES love him.

“Ro, be quiet!” Deceit hissed, shoveling candy into his pockets. “You’re not gonna get us caught!”

Yet Roman continued to babble, his sticky fingers now trying to unwrap the wrapper of a strawberry lollipop. They had broken into the junk food cupboard. Logan had found the key just minutes ago, and here they all were, munching away. Virgil and Logan were quietly throwing candy at each other, in bliss. They had never seen so much sweetness in one place, and here it was!!! All for them!!

Until, of course, Roman had to start crying. He had forgotten he didn’t like strawberry flavoring and the moment it touched his tongue, he let out a wail.

“RoRo!!” Virgil begged. “Pwease be quiet. Dada’s gonna-”

“What on earth are you all doing?” Patton had caught them, quiet literally with their hands in the cookie jar. Well, candy jar. Pat hurried forward, scooping the candy away from them. Logan and Virgil were now crying away, and Dee looked close. 

“What do you have to say for yourselves?” Patton asked later on. They were now in the living room, after being cleaned up.

“I sowwy,” Virgil cried, sniffling.

“I sorry too,” Logan proclaimed, frowning. “I weally sorry…”

“I’m not sorry,” Deceit muttered, and Patton knew what he meant.

“What about you, Ro? Do you have anything to say for yourself?”

TW ABUSE (EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL)

He was 3 when it started turning physical

Roman knew he wasn’t in a safe place, but even more so after the first hit

His parents wanted a good little trophy boy, who always got good grades, played sports, and never messed up.

Except Roman… wasn’t like that.

He had C’s in most of his classes, barely scrapping by

He didn’t really enjoy sports, they were too physically challenging for him (He had Rheumatoid Arthritis and asthma)

And boy, did he mess up often

Not only would his parents beat on him when he messed up, or when they had a hard day, they emotionally manipulated him.

“Roman… don’t you love me? I’m only asking you to do this one little thing for me and you won’t? You hate me, don’t you?”

His first regression was involuntary.

It was in the middle of a beating, and he just broke down competently

Suddenly, he was back at three years old, during that first beating.

When he was 18, Roman moved out with a friend. The friend’s name was Patton. He was a good person, and someone who Roman cared deeply for

Patton was one of the only one’s who knew about Roman’s regression

He went to therapy, he went to doctors, he went everywhere he could to get help (only after being convinced by Patton to do so)

When he was 22, he met someone named Dee

Dee was a good friend, but Roman didn’t plan to tell him about his regression.

Of course, Dee found out anyway when Roman accidentally regressed in front of him one day.

And- to Roman’s surprise- Dee wasn’t disgusted or grossed out. 

In fact, he helped him out. Dee cradled Roman in his arms, played with him, joked with him, and helped him until Roman eventually faded out of little space.

It took a few months of Roman coming to Dee during little space for him to actually ask Dee to be his CG. His Dadee if you will. 

Of course, Dee agreed. And it just sort of took off from there!!

“It’s too difficult for Thomas to do that-”

“That’s simply an illogical idea-”

“I don’t know, kiddo. Would that actually be possible?”

“Well maybe you all should come up the ideas!” Roman huffed. “If mine are so bad.”

“That is… possible,” Logan said, and Roman’s jaw dropped open. They were seriously considering making a video without the creative one involved in the process! He couldn’t believe it- it was- it was- Simply idiotic to do so!!! Roman could feel himself sinking as the others continued to talk about ideas, not even bothering to look at Roman’s plan anymore. Roman felt his lower lip tremble, and pushed back in his seat. With a sigh, he stood up. Obviously, he wasn’t need here anymore.

“Where you goin’ kiddo?” Patton asked, tilting his head in concern.

“To my room,” Roman muttered.

“Why’s that? We’re not done with the meeting yet.” Logan said, frowning. “You are needed in the idea making process and-”

“Well it doesn’t SEEM like I’m needed, does it!” Roman spat, his hands balling into fists. “What it SEEMS like is that you’re perfectly content coming up with your own ideas! You don’t need me!”

“Roman, kiddo…”

“Don’t-” Roman hissed. “Don’t, please don’t.”

“If you just listened to us-” Logan started, but Roman interrupted

“DON’T TALK TO ME!” He yelled, face red with anger. “DON’T, JUST D-”

And suddenly, he was falling. Swirling down a long tunnel, until he finally hit the bottom and he crumpled down onto the floor. He could hear the others around him- as their chairs scraped against their floor, and their footsteps came closer, and their voices got louder. He felt… small. He felt horribly small and nothing way right and all he wanted to do was cry. Roman knew what was happening, and he desperately wanted to run away but his legs didn’t work. He wished he had been able to go to his room.

“Roman? Roman what’s going on?”

Roman looked up to see Virgil standing above him, looking worried. Logan and Patton were on either side of him, looking equally concerned. Roman opened his mouth and babbled something unintelligible, which really meant- “Go away! Go away, I want my Dadee!!”

And, as if his babble had been a summoning, Deceit rose up a few feet away. He pushed his way through the others, holding Roman close.

“Little Prince, tell me what happened?”

((of course I don’t mind!!!))

“That was a very brave thing you did out there, Princess,” Dee murmured, pressing a kiss to Roman’s head. “You are very strong!”

Roman nodded, sniffling. They had been on a nice family outting in the dreamscape when the Dragon Witch had attacked. Roman, of course, had done everything he could to protect his family, but even then, he still was injured. They had stopped the bleeding, and carried him home (the wound was on his leg). Now Roman sat upon the fluffiest of pillow thrones as Logan patched him up and the others tried to cheer him up.

“I agree,” Patton said, leaning in from where he was sitting next to Roman. “It takes a lotta guts to be able to fight a Dragon Witch.”

Roman smiled slightly, sniffing again. He babbled something, to which the others nodded serious too. Maybe the injury would be okay if it meant he would get to spend time with all his favorite people.

Like you said, he’s a cranky boi

He’s often resting against his CG in hopes of falling asleep

He has his CG sit with him until he falls asleep, and when he wakes up, he has to go get them so that he can fall asleep again.

On especially bad days, he doesn’t want to be touched. His lack of sleep makes his extra sensitive, emotionally and physically.

He has a weighted blanket but it doesn’t help very much

When Thomas gets creativity block, Roman crashes into little space

It’s one of the only ways he can heal from the the vicious cycle of bad idea after bad idea

Usually, when he’s little during a creativity block, Roman goes nonverbal.

He has nothing to say, nothing to do. It’s impossible for him to do anything besides cuddle and watch movies until the rhythm has started back up again. 

“Roman, stop it! Can’t you see your hurting him!?”

Roman huffed, taking a glance at Virgil. He was almost in tears, and a part of Roman felt horrible. He shouldn’t treat Virgil that way… But at the same time, it just wasn’t fair! Why did Virgil get the special treatment? Couldn’t they see that Roman needed the same, if not even more?? He was a little too!! Though… he hadn’t told anyone. But that didn’t matter!! He still deserved love and care!

“What you have against Virgil being little, Roman? Why do you hate it so much?”

“I- UGH!” Roman turned on his heel, marching up to his room. It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t fair, it wasn’t FAIR!!!! 

And with that, Roman was regressed. Curling up on his bed, sniffling, crying. Why couldn’t he be treated with love and care? Why didn’t Patton love him? He rubbed his eyes, trying not to cry, when he heard something in the corner of his room move. Lifting his head, he looked over to see Deceit standing ominously in the darkness. Roman sat up.

“Ro! Don’t stop right now!” Deceit gasped, swooping in just in time to take the paint from Roman before he could dip his hand back in. The wall in front of his was dripping with wet paint, of all different colors. Roman giggled, reaching out for the paint. He obviously didn’t see anything wrong with this.

“Ro, we can paint on the walls, we haven’t been over this,” Deceit sighed. He picked Roman up, getting paint all over his clothes. “Come on little one, let’s go wash up.”

Like you said, Roman and Deceit are roommates

Across the hallway, Patton and Logan live

Virgil lives by himself in a different dorm building entirely

Out of Roman and Deceit, Roman is the one who regresses. He’s 2-3 years old at the time of regression.

Out of Patton and Logan, Logan is the one to regress the most. He’s 4-6.

Pat occasionally regresses from 3-4

Virgil regresses 2-5

Deceit has a “caregiver space”, which is basically when you feel to need to care for someone (i think??? someone correct me if I’m wrong)).

They don’t know each other IRL, but Virgil and Roman follow Patton and Logan’s little tumblr. 

It’s half way into the semester when Patton posts a picture of Logan in little space, and both Roman and Virgil realize that…. hang on-! He goes to our school!!!

They both are desperately trying to find Logan, but eventually they both see him at a coffee shop with Patton.

Roman approaches them first, asking if they have a tumblr blog called “littleadventuresofus”

Logan and Pat are shocked that someone recognizes them, but confirm that yes, it is them!!

Virgil hears this conversation and works up the nerve to come over a few minutes later, admitting that he follows the blog as well.

They all talk and have coffee/tea/whatever together!!

Hmm lemme think…

Roman makes up songs when he’s in little space

Patton is mostly likely to be the one taking care of the others

Little!Patton LOVES anything that jingles or clicks

Logan’s handwriting is horrible when he’s little, but he still loves to write

Both Roman and Virgil have different blankets they drag around

Roman’s is red with gold stars

Virgil’s is basically just his jacket as a blanket

Roman has hit Virgil in the arm with a carrot before

Virgil almost always has his paci in his mouth

Patton likes being called nicknames like “sunshine” and “little one”

They all, as CG’s, dish out nicknames like no one’s business

Regresses to cope with past trauma, but also because it’s fun!

He regresses often, but not always for long. However, sometimes it can last all day, depends on his mood/why he regressed.

His favourite little activity is pretend! He loves pretending to fight evil and rescue people (and dragons)!

Speaking of dragons, he loves them. He has dragon stuffies and pajamas and dragon everything!

Although all the other sides (and Reny occasionally) help and play with him, he is most attatched to Patton

Oof I ran outta writing power so here’s an outline for what I was gonna do.

-Little!Roman and Patton are in the living room.

-Roman is screaming his head off: “No! No! NO NO NO!”

-Patton’s trying to persuade him to take a bath

-”I DON’T WANNA! I DON’T WANNA! I DON’T WANNA!!!”

-Patton promises bubbles

-and duckies

-and maybe even a story afterward

-Roman melts at the prospect of all that

-He takes the bath
