BACKDATED: MARCH 21, 2022
Call him an overprotective boyfriend or simply hyper paranoid, but as soon as Sebastian had confirmed just how sick Lily looked, he had booked the first flight back to her hometown to be with her. The entire flight was filled with dread and a worry that not even SpongeBob Square Pants reruns could ease. “Hi, yeah, I lost my room key. Number 1209,” he said to the front desk clerk when he arrived at the hotel. He figured no concierge in their right mind would just hand out a key to a stranger with a bright smile but, to his surprise, the man behind the counter nodded his pointed chin as he handed over a plastic card in a small envelope.
With a swipe and two beeps, Bas was able to push the heavy door open with his shoulder, taking only a few steps before he was face to face with his love. Steeled eyes darted between her face and a small box on the bed beside her. He, in his wild 20s days, was all too familiar with that particular package and his voice caught in his throat as he said, “Do you–do you know something I don’t know?” Three more steps and he was on his knees, kneeling between her legs at the edge of the bed, with blue eyes trained on hers. “Did you already take one?” A smile begged to wash over his lips but he did his best to steady his features until he got more information on how she felt and how she would want to proceed.
Her stomach had settled down after a while of waiting, but the exhaustion was starting to take over while she sat on the bed, unsure when he’d arrive in London. Maybe he wouldn’t even get here until later this morning. It was already close to 2 o’clock. Calling it a night and getting a few hours of much needed sleep sounded like a good bet. Though she decided to give it five more minutes before she would turn the lights off and lock up. She closed her eyes and started to count in her head... The next thing she knew, she was awakened by a faint noise. Her eyes opened to see a figure rushing towards her and kneeling by her side. She jumps a little before her eyes focus on the man and realize it’s Sebastian. “What?” Her accent soft, the rapid fire questions making her brain hurt. It was then, she remembered the box sitting in front of her. her stomach twisting with nerves, she had been caught red handed. “Yes-No. No, I didn’t take one. I wasn’t going to until you got here...”
