There were a lot of things you didn’t expect about college. A lot of them were the run of the mill things like your professors actually being cool about deadlines, or what the dining hall was like. Most of what surprised you was your dorm roommate. Sure, the run of the mill experiences in having a roommate were something you had to get used to, but your roommate himself was the source of most of your shock. Things that surprised you about your roommate, Peter, that surprised you, in no particular order:
He actually does his chores, unlike roommates in those borderline horror stories you saw online all the time, which you thanked the roommate gods for.
He found out you were trans, and didn’t care in the slightest, which was cool.

He has so many nerdy posters that he wanted to put up that you ended up sacrificing some of your half of the wall space so he could.

You didn’t always watch good movies. You didn’t even always watch okay movies. Tonight’s movie of choice was Sharknado. The two of you were quiet for a long moment, Peter looking like he was blue screening and resetting.
“So, uh, how do we-“
