hey these are some tips for some of the little details in drawing fat folks that some people might not know!

everyone has fat on their bodies so its a worthwhile skill to have, but most art tutorials leave it out. heres some other good tips from artists!!

hii just in case u didnt know: im fat! and i love my life!

being fat is okay! you can be happy and fat! kill the weight watchers sales rep in your head!

No one has the right to make you feel terrible for having a body or for being in charge of that body and making informed decisions about how to care for that body.

you need to get in your head that these fat people are human too, who are deserving of good healthcare. if you only support people who are a little fat or if your support is conditional based on weight and peoples efforts to lose weight or not, it’s not support. it’s eugenics.

Larger bodied people often encounter reminders that their bodies are the “wrong” size, and that there’s something wrong with them. Lots of minor discomforts, and a few major discomforts, add up over the course of the day. It can make people feel like they don’t fit in, don’t belong, in this world that was not built to accommodate them.

During the height of the Vietnam War, two months before Woodstock, one month before the moon landing, and just two weeks before the Stonewall Rebellion took place merely twenty miles away, another thread of U.S. history was quietly being written. On June 13th, 1969, an engineering student with no prior experience in political organizing and his fat comrades gathered in Westbury, N.Y. and ratified a constitution for a new human rights movement that was deemed shocking, laughable, and entirely unheard of.

This is agorableism and fatphobia.

And as such, I wish there was more acceptance and positive portrayal of big fat, superfat, and infinifat people, both in the fat liberation community and in studies, books, shows, movies, etc. Yes, even the "gross," "weird," "ugly," and "unhealthy" ones.

We're common enough to be an epidemic, but not so common we can't see ourselves in superheroes, dancers, even background characters? Come on.
