Never underestimate the power of making someone feel wanted.

Not necessarily just in a physical way. Though those who experience low self esteem need this kind of validation as well at times.

I mean in the small ways.

Like when someone says, “I want you to be there for me when I do this.”

When your presence as a friend is wanted. Or your advice.

Or just your understanding silence.

Feeling wanted makes that person feel like they actually matter. That they are a part of someone’s life.

For those who feel worthless or powerless, being wanted can change everything. It makes you feel like you are actually worth something to someone. Or that you actually have to power to help.

You notice when you don’t have that.
